So this may be a dumb question, but are they are all the same or do any of you STMs have some recommendations for a specific one. Do I need just one or is it better to get two?  Looking to get one ordered this weekend... and had been looking at the Sealy one just based off the name. TIA

Re: Mattress Protectors
We have 3, one from PBK, a generic type from BRU (it might be Carter's though, I'm not sure) and a cheapie one from Target. I wish I had only bought the kind from PBK. It's the only one that hasn't leaked so far. A bit on the expensive side for these type of things but worth it to not have to scrub a mattress in my opinion.
Also, I would suggest two. That way you can wash one while you still have a clean made up crib.
I will look at the PBK one too! Thanks for the review on that. I was also looking at this Serta one since the reviews were pretty good:

Did you line dry your PBKs mattress protector or dry it on low heat? Line drying is going to be a pain to do every time especially because I live in a townhouse.

I just threw it in the dryer with everything else. There are very few things in my house that can't go in the dryer, mostly because they get ruined when one of us forgets! But, I should add, that may have been my problem with the other brands. I never even considered that.
This. I thought all crib mattresses were waterproof.. If not, may as well just get one that is! Then you never have to worry.
To be honest, I didn't even look. Our mattress is waterproof. I just thought mattress protectors were one of things you had to purchase. I guess I will just hold off for a bit then and decide later. Thanks for all the help ladies!

Our mattress is waterproof but I didn't want the liquid (spit up or pee) to pool and/or spread further over the sheet and have to wipe a puddle off the mattress in the middle of the night. The mattress protector absorbs it so you just pull it off with the sheet and put a new one on. Just seemed like less work. Plus I don't trust the holes where the threading (at the seams) goes through. I'd hate to have one not be sealed and the liquid to get in the mattress.
