Gross things kids eat?

This post is not prompted by my Anna's, eh, snack on Sunday morning. [For those who missed my post, I'm pretty certain she ate her own poop...] But I'm posting because Lydia was dipping banana in ketchup today. And she thought it was delicious. Barf!!! So what sort of gross food combos do your kids like??

Lydia has had a few, oddly all of the ones that come to mind involve ketchup: apple slices, cucumbers, crackers, French toast. All dipped in ketchup. I'll just stop there. I'm getting nauseous thinking about it.

  • DS regularly eats his boogers.

He doesn't really eat any weird food co,now especially because he won't eat condiments or use dipping sauces

I guess this could fall under gross things kids like to eat. We went to a bug fair at the Natural History Museum last weekend. The first thing ds wanted to do was to find the bug food. We tried cricket chocolate, crickets with honey on crackers, chocolate chip and cricket cookies and cricket chex mix but we missed out on the fried tarantula.

  • My kid mixes everything he is eating, at parties it can get pretty gross last week he was eating chips with his cake and before that he was having prosciutto and cream cheese sandwich mixed with chocolate

And the random bites of old crakers, cookies, raisins, etc he finds on his carseat, floor, under furniture and such that he promptly picks up and eats

  • DD doesn't have any weird combos, except probably raw oysters and tabasco {I think it's delicious!} which is odd for a kid. But one of my BFF's kids used to eat ketchup on everything...she even tried to put it in yogurt one night. Ack.
  • Yeah, ketchup.  DS dips everything in ketchup - watermelon, strawberries, as well as veggies (which I don't find as odd), and he has the occasional ketchup sandwich.  He basically does he same thing with sour cream and ranch.

Every once in a while we have boxed mac and cheese and DS2 likes his with ketchup. He got it from me...

DS and DH do that too. DS put a slug in his mouth once when he was 2. I'm not sure how much he ate but it grossed me out for a while.

  • DD put jelly on her cheeseburger a couple times.  It bummed me out, because I couldn't eat her leftovers.

There is a book called, "If I could keep you little" that says something about how nice it is to feed babies, "but then I'd miss you learning you like ketchup with your grapes."
