I've seen on here that lots of people have babies with LOTS of hair, and I've seen babies with lots of hair in every color... except blond(e). So, does anybody have a blondie with wig-like hair-thickness?
Different hair-colors developed based on populations' exposure to sunlight -- the more sun you're around, having darker hair (and skin, but that's another story) is more beneficial, because it protects you from sun-exposure. This is why places like Scandinavia have lots of blond(e) people -- it's cold and dark and they can use all the sunlight they can get.
Since it seems that the majority of babies with lots of hair have darker hair, I'm wondering if it's a related phenomenon, as in, it's more beneficial for dark-haired babies (those whose ancestors needed more sun-protection) to grow thick hair sooner.
Obviously this could be complete BS, as I don't have any real sample-size or anything... maybe the people with babies with lots of blond(e) hair just don't post pics on The Bump?

Re: Baby Hair Theory? (Bio nerd-alert)
Ha, very interesting. I'd support your theory.
My strawberry blond has very thin/fine hair.
As a baby, I was born with very thick, dark hair. (The lock of it in my baby book is very strange looking.) It all fell out by the time I was a few months old and very thin/fine white blonde hair grew back. So, there you go!
"A new baby is like the beginning of all things--wonder, hope, a dream of possibilities."
I get your logic. My LO was born with (and still has) tons of hair. But it is quite dark. He is 1/2 Vietnamese, so that explains that. I, however, am of Scandinavian descent. I was very much born blonde, but I think I had a decent amount of hair for a little blondie. You do have a point though, it is quite rare to see a blonde baby with tons of hair. Here is a pic of me as a baby with my blonde hair. I am not sure how old I was, but I think that is a good amount for a little blondie
Good theory! Every infant I've ever seen with a big mop of hair has had dark hair. My LO was definitely a baldy for quite a while, and now he mostly just has a blonde mohawk.
I can't ever remember seeing a blonde new squish with tons of hair.
I don't have an answer to your question but I wanted to throw another hair-related one out there.
My LO has light-medium brown hair (not much of it) but when I take her in the sunlight I see that a 1/8-1/16 inch from the root are blonde. Just curious if anyone else has seen this in their LO's hair.
My nephew has thick strawberry blonde hair. It has thinned out a little bit but it is still a full head of hair.
