Re: which dresser

  • We have the Hemnes 8 drawer and love it.  It has a ton of storage and is a nice size for the changing pad + other things in easy reach.  It is especially nice when they get wiggly.  I can't imagine keeping a wiggly almost toddler on top of a changing station with no extra room!

  • It's not too tall for the changing pad? I'm only 54" and I heard these were pretty tall

  • We have the ikea one and love it. We bought a second one in white for this baby. It does fit a change pad and all the accessories perfectly.

  • I'm 5'4 and it is great. I thought it would be too tall too but got it anyway because all the raves here. Lower surfaces hurt your back fast. I had medical issues at birth that made me unable to navigate stairs for a few weeks. I thought I could change on our dining table while stuck on the 1st floor. I quickly learned it was way too low. I was much happier changing on the Hemnes when I was able to get to the 2nd floor!

    Another vote for the Hemnes!

  • We got that exact Delta dresser (in cherry finish) and are very happy with it. We don't have an outside baby yet, but  I feel like the drawers hold a lot, the heigth is great (I am 5'4 and DH is 5'9) and there is ample room on top for a changing pad, a little basket for diapers, wipes, q-tips ect and a lamp.

We thought about going to Ikea too, but went with the Delta because I wanted somethign a little 'fancier' and something that wasn't so long.

Sounds like both would be great choices it's just personal preference.

This! I'm 5' 3. It will work great! I think it's better for the back being a little taller than other dresser options.
  • Choose something that can grow with your child.  There is no need to buy a "changing table."  I used a piece found at garage sale and painted it.  The hope is to use it forever!  Check out the pic here...

  • We also have the Ikea dresser and love it ! It totally works for a dresser. I'm also 5 4 and agree you'll want something closer to this height . I hate changing my kids on the bed and other low surfaces it just hurts my back. We love this dresser so much were going to get one for our oldest two daughters to replace the smaller dresser/ hutch they have now so it can grow with them .
