Re: ***May Emeralds Check In***

  • Sorry this is late!  What I thought would be an easy morning turned into nonstop meetings.

I am 6dp3dt and had an emotional melt down yesterday when I found out my brother in law's sister in law is pregnant.  My husband gets upset when he sees me upset and that made me feel worse.  Yesterday was just an emotional day for me in general but today I seem to be doing ok.  I did get up during the night to pee so (yay for imaginary pg symptoms!) of course I'm thinking that's a sign that it may have worked this time as I never do that.  Or it could be the result of drinking so much gatorade so I stay hydrated lol.  I am taking a FRER on Monday when my husband and I are home and then beta on Tuesday.  I have acupuncture tonight and I'm really looking forward to it.

One quick question- has anyone had a really elevated heart rate while on PIO/estrace?  It was like 120 last night and really freaked me out as it took about an hour to go down to 98.  My normal resting heart rate is 60-70.  I dont' know if it was just the stress and anxiety of the day, or if its a side effect from medication?

QOTD:  I have 3 parrots!  I have a cockatoo named Skittles who we rescued, an African Grey named Echo, and a Parrotlet named Chechu.  They are like our kids and we worry about them constantly.  :)  When I was little I always wanted a monkey.  :)

  • Hi Emeralds! I am 5dp3dt now. I am kind of panicking that it didn't work. I have no symptoms whatsoever, phantom or otherwise. I have lost weight since ET and I am now lower than when I started this cycle. I no longer feel any swelling in my ovaries, and the nurse told me if it worked they would stay swollen for awhile. On Tuesday I passed a clump of cm, and I swear there were two small red spots in it and IF brain is telling me that was the embryos. Everything I have researched says that's not possible, but it still freaked me out. The extra embryo we were waiting on didn't make it to freeze, so we are really just banking on these two embryos that I hope are still in me.

Our beta is next Wednesday. DH has to work late that day and I can't decide if I should listen to the message by myself or wait for him to come home. The next day is my big end of the year concert at school, and Friday, Saturday, Sunday is dance recital weekend. DH 's mom owns a dance studio and the recital every year is a huge family event. If it fails, I don't know how I am going to be able to handle facing my family at all let alone for a whole weekend. And there will be babies in adorable dance costumes everywhere. I know I am being super pessimistic right now, I just haven't had one single good sign that it might have worked.

I have 2 cats named Vader and Luke, a ball python named Monty, and a beta fish named Amadeus.

  • Hello ladies!

GL to those doing ER, ET or Beta's soon and big HUGS to those who need it!

I having been posting seperate posts here and there during my days of stiming but so far so good!  I am on day 7 of stims and I feel so bloated and uncomfortable that I wished I bought a pair of maternity pants! lol.  Started getting crampy today and lots of CM which I'm finding out is normal! Yesterday's monitoring appointment showed I had 10 follicles measuring between 11-3mm and another 10-15 more measuring 10mm or less.  Hopefully more catch up! My estrogen was 730 and progestrone 0.3.

The injections took a few days to get used to and now I have it down with like 1 more day hopefully to go!  The trick to inject the Menopur in SUPER slow was the best advice I ever got and doesn't even effect me anymore! Also I felt no burn with the Ganerilex that others seem to experience?

Getting excited and nervous that my ER is only days away at this point!! Estimated trigger date is either this Saturday or Sunday and the estimated ER date so far could be either 5/27 or 5/28!!

QOTD: Do you have any pets? What are their names? If not, what would you love to have or want to have when growing up?

I have a female tabby named Abigail - Abby for short that we call her!  I LOVE love love her.  She's like a daughter to us and she is so spoiled!  DH wants a dog but I think I am way to OCD to have a dog running around my house so I'm not on the same page as him.  I said maybe later on when our house is destroyed from all the kids we'll get a family dog!  lol!

"Apparently my eggs aren't metabolizing well. There is a mitochondria problem which is causing my smooth endoplasmic reticulum to aggregate. (yeah- kinda glad I teach middle science so I know what he is talking about it. still don't understand it)  He says the clinic sees about 1 case per year and they do over 3,000 ICSIs a year, so the last place probably saw it, but didn't know what it was.  Literature is scarce on the condition, and mine is the most severe my RE has seen. He has successfully treated 2 prior patients but the protocol is very different. I'd have to go into a menopausal state and make no estrogen but be on all the other hormones. And he would only push for 3-4 follicles with 2-3 eggs. And we are using testicular sperm (the best testicular sperm they've ever seen, but still...)

We don't know whether to try his protocol or look at donor eggs. We were able to have them agree to let us pay cash for this cycle at the accepted insurance rate so we would still have one covered cycle. We need to make that decision by today. So no time to cry- got to put my thinking cap on and come up with a plan.  No idea what to do. "

I read your previous post on this and there truly are no words. I am glad they at least found that out rather than keep repeating cycles with no explanation, but it still completely sucks.  I'm so sorry.  Sending you lots of hugs right now.

  • Hi Emeralds. GL and hugs to those who need them.

I had a monitoring appt. yesterday. Lining check and BW were great. I start PIO tomorrow. FET is scheduled for next Wed!!

QOTD: No pets here. We didn't have any when I was growing up. DH had a dog when he was younger, and we would love to have one when we move out of our apartment.
  • I'm 1dp6dt of a pgd frostie.  Fx that he sticks!  I have to go in tomorrow for b/w hormone check and then beta 1 will be next Fri. 5/31.  Went for my acupuncture today and picked up 2nd vial of PIO and am now relaxing on the sofa, watching Cash Cab.

QOTD: No pets at the moment.  My cat died a week after we returned from honeymoon 2 years ago.  We have been saying we'll get a labrador retriever, but keep putting it off for "after baby"...it's been longer than expected and I really wish I had a furbaby in the house to hug and kiss during all the stress from IF.  Oh well.

  • Good luck to all of you ladies!  I love reading the updates. Know that you are in my thoughts every day.

I'm on day 5 of stims- I started menopur and ganirelix today (in addition to the follistim). I go tomorrow for my second bloodwork and first ultrasound! I'm really excited to see what's going on in there. On day 4 of stims, my bloodwork showed estrogen at 327, so I know something is happening. Today the Ganirelix didn't hurt at all, but of course Menopur burned as usual. I'll do 150 follistim tonight.

As for pets- we have a dog and three kitties :) Sometimes it can feel like a full house.. I have no idea what it will be like to (hopefully) add a little person into the mix one day.

  • Hello Emeralds! Big hugs to everyone needing them right now! We are triggering tonight and will have ER on Saturday with a 3 day transfer on Tuesday. We have 4 follicles and 2 are mature. Dr is very happy with the 2 mature ones and glad that Wr pushed it one more day. Wishing everyone good luck!

QOTD. We have an American cocker spaniel named Bodie who will be 6 next month.

  • Still pretty sad about IVF#1 not working out.  I think I'd feel better if we had some embies on ice or even if some were close to making it to freeze besides the one we put in.  I haven't been sleeping well; I keep waking up thinking "I may never have biological kids".  IVF was our backup plan and when it didn't work, I guess I'm just freaking out.  I'm not giving up, just feeling like poo.

We were supposed to have a WTF meeting next week but the nurse called to cancel.  I guess all of the REs at the practice have a weekly meeting on Mondays to discuss each of their patients and this would allow our RE to get ideas/opinions from other doctors about us.  Since this Monday is a holiday, the meeting is canceled so our appt is pushed back a week.  It's probably a good thing, give us more time to heal.

QOTD: We have 2/12 yr old red lab named Mac.  He (along with DH) has been my comforters through everything.  I love him so much!!

Me-31/DH-32, TTC since Aug 2011, HSG/Blood work all normal 3 SAs - results all over the place. DX Unexplained
    3 failed IUIs, IVF #1: 12R/6M/6F, transferred 1 5d blast, no frosties, bfn.   IVF #2:  12R/6M/5F, transferred 1 5dt, 2 frosties, bfn.    Yale EFT test done, mild inflamation - maybe endometrisis?   FET #1: transferred 2 6d blasts, BFP!!!  Beta #1: 606 e2:303, P: 47   Beta #2: 1,817    Beta #3: 8,625

  • I am so impatient and POAS yesterday afternoon at 3dp5dt of 2 blastocysts 10dp trigger and again this am got light BFP both times; probably just residual trigger. Lots of AF cramps today while working. Hope everyone is doing well!!

QOTD: No pets, but look forward to getting a dog once we buy a new house next year!

  • Good luck to everyone and lots of hugs to those who need them. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.
My second beta is in and it more than doubled so an ultrasound was scheduled for Tuesday. Of course I'm looking forward to graduating to the PAIF board but after 3 losses in a year I'm very cautious to make the transition too soon. I hope you all don't mind if I stay a little longer.

QOTD: DH and I adopted a rescue beagle dog in September. He is around 2 we think and is the love of our lives. His name is Ernie and is the sweetest, funniest and most loving dog. He is so awesome he actually made us really consider adoption if this pregnancy doesn't work out cause he is the best adopted dog ever! Haha

  • Hello Girls!

I'm  3dp5dt and I'm trying to not lose my mind! I haven't felt any symptoms at all, so I'm trying to keep my hopes up. I know that you don't have to feel anything to get a BFP, but still. LOL. If this doesn't work, we have to do the whole cycle again because we didn't have any to freeze. Trying hard to stay positive! This weekend DH & I are going away for the weekend - I can't wait!

QOTD - We have a guinea pig and a fish! Once we buy a house, we will get a rescue dog.

  • Hey there ladies. Hugs to all who need em. I seriously pray for all of you ladies everyday. And gl to allllll of us!

I got mt bfp. Beta one was 112 beta two was 279. I go for u/s 5/29. So of course IF is crazy and I've been going nuts wondering if my numbers are still doubling and if I'm on track. I emailed my nurse asking what she thinks. She said my numbers more than doubled so I am fine. Now my mind is going nuts on wondering if there's going to be a sac. But the question is what would make there not be a sac? IF plays with our minds. It still hasn't sunken in that I am pg. I really hope once I see a sac I can begin to enjoy this 9 mos.

I, from the bottom of my heart wanna thank you ladies. There has been times when you're responses have gotten to me faster than my nurse and has put me at ease. I pray for you all nd know that god is with us all.
I'm not comfortable just yet going over to PAiF although I have been peaking here and there. I hope this doesn't bother anyone.

    Qotd:
    I have two dogs.
Champ 7yr old 179 lbs Rottweiler who is so calm and relaxed but aggressive when needed.
Rusty pure beagle. 7 mos. My baby. Hes a nutcase. I sometimes wonder what DH and I were thinking when we decided to get the most hyper dog out there right before this cycle. Lol. Hes a sweet heart tho and so loving.
Dh wants a bulldog later on. We'll see about that one.

Hi ladies. It's 7:30am in Australia and we are on our way to embryo transfer. I have acupuncture before and after and will hopefully be all finished by late morning. I had an awful night sleep and a big fight with my husband for racing around and making us late when I specifically asked him to get everything he needed ready last night. Grrrr. I know it's tiredness, anxiety and probably the meds that made me get so angry but I do feel bad. I'm trying to relax now and put myself in a more positive frame of mind. I'll post after the transfer to let you know how it went. Congrats to the ladies that have positive news and my sincere sympathy to those that have not had good news.

    Hi Emeralds!

lining check for FET was done this morning, and it's a 9 triple line! I don't think I ever had a triple liner or maybe they never pointed it out before. Transfer scheduled for 5/31. Most likely start PIO on Sunday. Never did that before....kind of nervous.

QOTD: 2 year old havanese named Javier! He is a mamas boy and had helped me through rough times. I loooove him.

  • Hi Ladies!!!

I'm just waiting and waiting and waiting in the worlds longest 2ww!!! I am only 4dp5dt and I am desperate, part of my brain keeps saying " there's NO WAY this couldn't work" and the other half keeps thinking about how sure i was before and how I wasn't pregnant then either.  I spent a full day and 1/2 in bed after transfer and then an easy day the next, mostly lazing about my house on various surfaces. Yesterday I had a fitness shoot and I honestly was exhausted by 1/2 way through, I felt terrible because the clients were working their tails off and I was just sort of sitting there and halfheartedly shooting. The clients are happy with the result though, so it's fine.

Today has been weird, I have a super fast resting heart rate (Jezz...you mentioned this as well?) and I've noticed eating any sugars, even natural ones like mango are making me feel just awful; shaky and strung out.  Lame.  Not much in the way of symptoms that aren't the PIO, my boobs are KILLING ME, I can't even roll onto my side at night without waking up because they hurt. Obviously, if this works I'm cool with any and all of the random discomfort!!!

QOTD: I have a zoo! 2 dogs- 1 King Shepherd named Ansel and one street puppy/daschund mix named Henry, 1 Maincoon cat named Ravi and 2 Fish- Mercutio and Charlie Francis

  • Hello Emeralds!

Congratulations to all the bfp's, GL to everyone and lots of hugs to all that need them.

I could hold it any longer and called the lab today to ask about our embies. Of the 4 we had in the freezer, they had to thaw 3 because one didn't survive and we're doing a double transfer. As of yesterday they were looking good and my ET will be at 9.30 am (central european time) so you ladies will still be sleeping at that time :)

I had my first IVF related dream today (that I can remember at least...). It was actually a nightmare, I dreamed that I arrived at the clinic for the transfer and asked for the pics of the embies, when I looked at them they only had two cells and looked awful... I felt so relieved when I woke up! That was also a reason why I called the lab to get some reassurance. Otherwise, I'm feeling good. I have loads to do as I'm organising an event at my university and we expect some 400 students to participate! I'm enjoying the distraction :)

QOTD: I don't have any pets now, but I grew up on a farm and always had lots of dogs and cats running around. I really miss their company and how good they make you feel... My favourite dog was called Giggio, I really miss him...

Kezzzke.... I was the same way during my first cycle. My boobs were so sore and rock hard! I am not looking forward to that again!

solisilou.... GL at your FET :]

I am feeling much better today! Yesterday I woke up with the worst cramps in the world! Spent all day on the couch, and with the help of a little Vicodin, got through the day just fine. In case you missed my other post, we have 13 embies growing strong today and will be transferring the best 2 tomorrow! I am not looking too forward to bedrest, I get stir crazy and tend to not be able to let people take care of me too well, but thankfully my RE only requires 24 hours of it.

QOTD: We have 3 dogs. One is my first dog after moving out on my own. He is a 12 year old beagle/lab mix named Baxter. I love him to pieces! We also have 2 doberman pinchers. One is Brie, she is in my avatar, and she is almost 3 years old. The other is Tuck. He is 12 weeks old and such a little sweetie! I never really thought I'd consider Dobies, but now that we have them, they are wonderful dogs!

  • Hi Ladies!  Lots of great news out there, but big hugs to those who need them too!

I had my lining check today and everything looked good, so transfer is scheduled for Wednesday the 29th!  DH and I talked through how many embies we're going to put in and the final decision was one.  I am excited to be finally reaching a transfer but scared shitless too!

QOTD: I have one 12 year old Great Dane named Hagen.  She is our world.  She has been with DH and I sent college and she's been through so many major highs and lows with us, I can't imagine life without her.  She's starting to struggle with getting around on her own which just the thought of putting her down sends me into an emotional tailspin.  We had a 6 year old male Great Dane named Hank who died suddenly (vet error in surgery)  this time last year.  I still miss him so much it hurts!

  • Hi Emeralds!

I'm 3dp3dt of one embie.  Only 10 more days till beta!  We had no frosties and I'm trying to be cautiously optimistic due to the grade of the embie we transfered.

    GL & hugs to all!

QOTD: We have a puggle, Jack, who will 5 in September (in my siggy).  He is my buddy through everything.  I really want another doggie, we talked about getting one this past January if we weren't KU'd yet, but that has yet to happen!

  • I'm super late here, sorry! I posted above, my transfer is being delayed a little bit due to my lining only being at 6 something (RE wanted to see at least 8).  I'm wearing a patch and will get checked out again on Mon am.  I'm hoping my transfer will be next Sat, June 1st (which makes me a non-Emerald, I'm sad).

Hugs, GL's and congrats to all!

QOTD: No pets here. We talk about getting a dog often, but haven't bitten the bullet. Our schedules are pretty insane, so we feel guilty for doing that to a dog.  DH wants a Shiba Inu.  We would have a cat, but I'm allergic.  DH likes cats, he grew up with them.

    From last post:

QOTD: We rescued 2 boxers. A girl- Laila (Named after Laila Ali, the boxer) and MacGyvor, we call him Mac. He can get into anything.. and he does!

Oh wow hun, I'm so sorry you are going through all of this.  Crazy to have such a rare thing.  I'm glad they were able to figure it out.  I hope your decision was not too tough.  Hugs!

Hi Ladies. Well my embryo transfer was yesterday [day 2] and unfortunately out of our 4 embryos we only had 1 x 3 cell and 3 x 2 cells. They transferred the 3 cell embryo and rang us today to say that the other three had divided to four cell but they didn't have high hopes that they would keep going to blastocyst stage to be frozen as they were progressing so slowly. I feel so low and was really upset when I woke up really, really hot from wearing too much to bed last night. I feel like I've jeapordised this cycle by overheating. I never thought I'd be so negative and down but I just can't seem to think positively at them moment. I know people would be grateful for any embryos so I feel quite guilty...Man this is a roller coaster of emotions! Thinking of all of you x
