S/O threw a curve ball at me last night...

mobile: S/O threw a curve ball at me last night...

So I've been a lurker on here for quit a while but have enjoyed keeping up on everyone else's posts! And the May babies are all so beautiful! I can't wait until its my turn :)

We have had Avery Reagan picked out for our daughter, EDD 6/28/13, since around 20 weeks. Last night my husband said we should save Reagan for a first name in case we have another girl with baby #2.  That's the only girl name he has liked so I don't want him to be disappointed if we have another girl and he can't use it. So now I don't know what to do for the middle name?! It's hard when you've been set on a name for almost four months and now need to decide on a new one. Even if its just the middle name. So I need suggestions please. Our last name is only one syllable so I liked having the first and middle name longer.

We are considering Mae since it's mine and my mom's middle name but again, I like the two+ syllables. Please help :) Thank you!

  • I love the name Mae and it is going to be our daughter's middle name.  It was my grandmother's middle name and she was very important to me.  I think it is very feminine and goes well with Avery.

  • I also really like Avery Mae.  I think the one syllable middle name goes really nicely with the three syllable first name.

  • I have a little girl and her name is Ava Elizabeth, very close to Avery, so I say Elizabeth ... very girly and beautiful, I think! :)

  • I think Avery Mae is absolutely beautiful and it was actually the first name that came to my mind before I even got to the point where you mentioned it.

  • How about Avery Maya? Similar to Mae, but 2 syllables.

    Agreed!! Sounds pretty!
  • Our girl name was Avery Rene. My mom and I have the same middle name also so we will pass it on if we ever have a girl.

  • Thank you everyone! I needed the reassurance! :)
  • We're having an Avery too!! MN is Laiken, after my sister. We've always had that MN set so I don't have too many other suggestions. I like Avery Caroline, Caitlin, Noelle. Good luck, names are tricky!

  • I totally understand how you feel! We have had the name Lillian Claire picked out since before we even knew she was a girl.  Husband wants to just use Lillian and use Claire as a first name if we ever have another girl.  We've been thinking Lillian Emilia, but I'm not 100% for it.

Though both mn's are pretty, I much prefer Mae.  I am probably biased because it's also a family name for us, too.  If we had a second girl her mn would have been Mae, but this one is a DS.  Our first DD was the next in line for the other family mn.
  • Avery Mae sounds nice!
Also like the suggestion of Avery Elizabeth.
