Toys that make noise or no? Flying home to Arkansas tomorrow...just me and S. I'm terrified that he'll be "that" kid so I need distractions. But I don't want to annoy other passengers, either.

DD chewed on Sophie the whole time...squeaked a couple times, but relatively quiet. I'd try quiet toys first, and you may be amazed how good LO is.maybe he'll even sleep! Good luck!

That is tough. I would say as a last resort but I would try to keep entertained with things that don't make noise first.
I would probably bring things that they like to play with but aren't usually "allowed" to.
Remote control with no batteries
Wooden spoons
Plastic bowls
Clean diapers
Those are all things that my girls love but aren't supposed to be toys.

This is a great idea. Thanks!!

Awesome ideas! My kid is OBSESSED with clean diapers. It is so funny. And psycho.
Yes! They go after them the minute they see them. Of course then they also throw a fit when I take it from them to put on their bottom.
They also try to go after the dirty ones. So it is a battle trying to keep one sister away from her sisters dirty diaper while I am trying to wrestle the clean one away from the sister I am changing to put it on her. Yeah, it is fun.
Samuel L Jackson says, "Get that muthaeffin baby a muthaeffin toy!"
Sorry. It's been on of those days.
I say quiet noises are ok--but I would be annoyed by something squealing in my ear all flight, yeah. We have a puppy with a really quiet bell in it that wouldn't be terrible, and the crinkly books wouldn't bother me much, either. I would say--if you can put in earphones at a reasonable volume and still hear the toy loud and clear, it's too loud for a plane. Better than screaming baby, sure, but it's not like it has to be a tradeoff
And I agree with things that aren't usually toys being used as toys--new and exciting FTW.
