Stomach Flu?

Last night DS woke up in vomit at 2:00.
After we cleaned up and were laying down to go back to sleep, he threw up again.
Then he proceeded to toss and turn all night, eventually falling asleep at approximately 5 a.m.
When he woke up around 10 am, his diaper was full of whitish yellowish pale colored poo.
He was fine all day, until we were driving in the car. He threw up all over himself and the carseat.....
Not good.
Stomach flu?
Call ped?
Any advice?
He's happy as a clam through all of this. No fever either..

I'm so sorry! My guess is his body Is flushing out a bug. I'd call the ped, just to keep myself calm, but probably wouldn't go in unless he was getting too dehydrated... No pee in the diapers, crying with no tears, sunken soft spot.., pedialyte is great if he can keep it down. Praying for a quick recovery

  • Thank you.
I have a feeling the vomitting is over. He hasn't thrown up since the car seat incident.

  • We've been through that fairly recently with DD.  Pedialyte and a lot of snuggles is about all you can do.  If he's otherwise acting pretty normal, then I wouldn't worry too much.  In addition to watching for signs of dehydration, keep an eye out for signs of a possible ear infection.  We finally took our DD in to urgent care because she WOULD NOT drink anything.  We were worried about dehydration and we found out she had an ear infection- apparently that can cause vomiting in some kids as well.

Hope he is feeling better soon!

We just went through this too. He woke up covered in vomit one morning and his poop was like that for 2 to 3 days. Otherwise he was completely normal. We just let it ride since he had no fever he wasn't complaining.

  • I just saw this last week - pretty awesome when you don't want to go to the store because your little one is puking
