Mobile: Night two in the night weaning saga...
I'm just hoping there won't be night 200 at this point.
We're off to a rough start. Despite me telling him approximately fifteen times that I would be home in time to nurse DD before bed (I had to visit a friend), DH warmed her up a bottle. Which of course only set her off, so she was crying when I got home around 8:15. I tried to feed her but she kept pushing away, so I put her in her bed.
Cue the screaming.
I went in and comforted her after 3 minutes, and then after 5, and then at 10 minutes I picked her up to feed her because I thought she might still be hungry since she'd just messed around earlier and hadn't drank hardly any of the bottle, either. And she was, so she nursed both sides really well but started screaming again when I put her in her crib. This time, though, she settled down in less than 3 minutes and she's asleep now.
If she wakes around 11 or midnight I'll top her off, but after that I'm only going to offer one breast and then it's back to bed. Tomorrow I'm going to start cutting back the time on those night nursings by a minute. She did do a lot better nursing during the day today, so I feel like we're already making progress. I just hope taking the slow road works. Even letting her cry for a few minutes breaks my heart, because she just sounds like she's in absolute distress.

Let's hope so. Part of me feels like I should've done this when she was a little younger, and part of me wishes I could just continue on our merry organic way of sleeping and eating when we need to
I just feel like I'm not doing her any favors right now if I do, and I know I'm wrecking myself.

This! Just wanted to give you some encouragement. We did sleep training with DS1 when he was about 9 months old. He was used to falling asleep while nursing and we had to break that habit. We did some similar things. One of us would actually sit in the room at first, then we slowly weaned that away as well. I just wanted to let you know he is an awesome sleeper now and has been since we did this. Sometimes I wished it hadn't gone so well, because he never wanted to snuggle much at bedtime then. We would read his stories, rock for maybe a minute, then he wanted to go into his crib! It is worth it!
This totally made me start crying. I know it's better for her to be able to comfort herself but I want to cuddle her right now.
