Title for mobile users: STMs, speaking of used carseats...
Are you planning to reuse your infant seat for the new baby? DS is 17 months, so the infant seat we have isn't expired or anything, but for some reason I'm wary of reusing. There weren't options with side impact protection in infant seats when we purchased his SnugRide, so I'm wondering if I should upgrade to the side impact protection seats or not. I know it's a bit early for me to be freaking about this, but just wanted to see what others have done/plan to do.

We always buy new and upto date seats with each child. It is one of our first baby equipment purchases.

Eta: I am going to try for a new one though, because like another poster said. I HATE the handle on ours too. I like the ergonomic ones.
This! It's practically brand new and has never been in an accident.
Edit - oops mine is a Chico key fit 30 not the graco

Yes I'm reusing it. I know nothing dangerous has happened to it, no accidents, not expired, etc, so there's no way I could justify the expense of getting a new one.
ETA: DD is only 8 months old though, so our infant carseat (Britax B-Safe) was made in 2011...
I reused my Snugride 35 with DD. It's still not expired, so I'll use it for this LO too.
I regret buying the 35. My DS at almost 3 is still only 30lbs. clearly my peanut children did not need a high weight limit, lol.
Agree. I like the seat for the most part, but it's HEAVY and I think we moved him the convertible around 9 months and he only weighed like 18 lbs or something. Oh well, live and learn!
we did the exact same thing b/c DS was so tall. DD stuck it out for about a year and then we moved her to our other convertible. But yeah, seriously it weighs a ton. But I'm not replacing a perfectly good carseat, lol.
All of this. It is still in good shape.
never considered buying another one. We have a Chicco Keyfit 30 with two bases bought in early 2012. I'm good to go! However, it's blue so if we have a girl I will have to tie a bow on it or something lol
