A plan we are comfortable with...

AF is FINALLY here! Woo hoo. I was getting extremely annoyed and so ready to start the next cycle. As you might recall from my last post the lady I spoke to after AF was so late recommended we move straight to injects + trigger + IUI. DH and I were not comfortable with that since the cost was substantial (we are OOP) and it seemed like such an extreme deviation from my last game plan which was to slowly move into clomid.

I expressed my concern about the new plan and wanted some additional information as to why we jumped so far so fast. The lady who made the plan for the IUI for me was a lady I have not dealt with at all in that office. I have always seen the male RE and a different nurse. When I inquired as to why the plan changed she admitted that she thought she had seen in my chart that I had already tried clomid and had not been successful so this was the next step. Obviously since that is not the case, we revised the game plan to more of what we are comfortable with.

The Plan: 25 mg of clomid (starting very small) + upping my metformin to 1500 mg. We will also repeat my biopsy on June 18.

The lesson learned: I will now be extra cautious of any plan presented by doctors or nurses that are not familiar with my or with whom I have not worked before.

I am feeling much better about this plan and have a much more positive outlook.

Yay! Way to be on top of your treatment! Hope this cycle is it for you, and you don't need anything other than Clomid.
I've found that taking Clomid at night minimizes the side effects. You shouldn't see that many on just 25mg, but if you see any lining issues, run far away from the Clomid!

Thanks....apparently it doesn't come in a 25 mg dose but I will get the 50 mg tablets and only take half. They like to do it this way to ease people into taking clomid -- other than the one lady who decided to just skip clomid all together and take us to injects. Wink
