Got the call from the RE. Extremely rare egg issue. WTF appoint today instead of my graduation ceremony.

Jan 2014=IVF #5-LLP, Cxld after 6 days of stims due to fast response and lead follicle.
March 2014=IVF 5.5-LLP, Lupron 3/10, BL 3/18, 11 days of stims, Trigger 3/29, ER 3/31. 7R, 2M, 2F. ET 4/3. Txfd one 5 cell & one 9 cell. BFP on hpt from 7dp3dt & on. Praise be to God. Beta #1 at 11dp3dt=106, #2 at 13dp3dt=239. First u/s 4/28, measuring on track & heartbeat seen. 5/5-2nd u/s, measuring on track with strong heartbeat. 5/12- 3rd u/s & released from RE. Grow baby grow, we love you! Baby G&T is a BOY! Born 12/2014 via c/s! 8lbs, 8oz & 21 inches.

| Married since 2008 | DH and I: Both 30 | Me: Endometriosis and Carrier of an X-Linked Dominant Genetic Disorder | DH: Low Morph | Planning IVF with PGD and PGS in 2013 | Freeze-All IVF #1: March 2013 ER 3/26. 29R, 12M, 11F. 4 5AA frozen blasts. Freeze-All IVF#2: May 2013 ER 5/15. 31R, 21M, 20F. 6 5AA frozen blasts. Our PGD probe was completed in late June (total of 20 weeks to develop). PGD and PGS Results came on 6/19: 3 healthy embryos (normal chromosomes and unaffected by my family's genetic disorder). FET #1: July 2013 Natural Cycle - Cancelled due to insufficient lining (only got to 7.5mm). FET #1.2: August 2013 - Medicated Cycle with Lupron & Estrogen Patches to build up lining. Single embryo transfer was 8/23. Beta #1: 240! Beta #2: 578! U/S on 9/19 at 6w4d: We saw the heart beating at 131bpm. Second U/S on 10/4 at 8w5d: We saw the heart beating at 178bpm. EDD 5/11/2014

IVF with ICSI in August 2013 brought us our babies. ER-9R, 7M, 4F w/ICSI ET of 2-Grade 2 blasts.
Dx shortened cervix, PTL, and preeclampsia during pregnancy. Lots of medications and 13 weeks of bedrest, babies were born healthy at 34w4d!

FET scheduled for July 8. Delayed due to a crazy high TSH (it had been under control for YEARS!)

Apparently my eggs aren't metabolizing well. There is a mitochondria problem which is causing my smooth endoplasmic reticulum to aggregate. (yeah- kinda glad I teach middle science so I know what he is talking about it. still don't understand it) He says the clinic sees about 1 case per year and they do over 3,000 ICSIs a year, so the last place probably saw it, but didn't know what it was. Literature is scarce on the condition, and mine is the most severe my RE has seen. He has successfully treated 2 prior patients but the protocol is very different. I'd have to go into a menopausal state and make no estrogen but be on all the other hormones. And he would only push for 3-4 follicles with 2-3 eggs. And we are using testicular sperm (the best testicular sperm they've ever seen, but still...)
We don't know whether to try his protocol or look at donor eggs. We were able to have them agree to let us pay cash for this cycle at the accepted insurance rate so we would still have one covered cycle. We need to make that decision by tomorrow. So no time to cry- got to put my thinking cap on and come up with a plan. Unfortunately DH and I had such a hard time with donor sperm because neither one of us have brown eyes and we're both O blood type, so each place gave us like 5 possible donors. It's going to be even slimmer with donor eggs. No idea what to do.

I am not sure. Of the 3 cases he's seen, they all worked but were previously great responders to drugs, unlike me, and didn't have MFI, unlike me. Not sure I can compare.
Tomorrow they are billing the insurance for the procedure. Once the insurance gets billed, we are no longer covered for IVF, but if we pay cash for the ER then we get one more try including all meds covered... and this could include a fresh donor too maybe. Trying to get it all squared away ASAP. But if we decide to go donor embryos, then we don't need to pay for the last ER because ET will be covered. I hate that money is such an issue, but that's just how it is. Looking into loans to cover donor fees and such- so much not covered also.
Wish I had more time, but I have been at this pc all day except for WTF appt so it's been keeping me occupied and trying to look at possible ways to have a baby. Has to be better than crying with a highly caffeinated, alcoholic drink, right?
