Sound spa

Are any of you planning on getting the sound spa or some other type of sound machine to block out other noises in your house or to help soothe baby? I know there are negative thoughts about using them but just wondering if anyone has had good luck with one and if so which brand?

Sleep sheep worked great for DS. It has a couple different sounds and it's a sheep stuffed animal which is cute too

We have one in both girls rooms. We also had the sleep sheep but didn't like that it turned off after 45 minutes. Both kids like the white noise all night. I like it too, very soothing
ETA. We got ours from bed, bath, and beyond for 20.00 a piece

I wasn't going to, no big reason just didn't think it necessary, but DH asked for one because he likes to have white noise when he's going to sleep so he thought the baby would like it too. We registered for the First Years Silence sound machine.

We registered for the aidan and anais serenity star, it does other stuff besides make noise but I heard it was pretty useful

DS1 is 2.5 years and we have had the sound spa since he was born and he still uses it for naps and at night. Blocks out sound, you have the option for it to shut off on a timer or leave it running. There's also an option for the projection on the wall but we found that to be more distracting than soothing so we didn't really use that feature. I would highly recommend the sound spa though. We will be purchasing another for DS2

I wasn't planning on it but was given one that my sister had. Our bouncer and bassinet also have sounds as well. I figure we'll jus play with them all an see what works best.

I actually plan to do with dd the same as I did with ds. I kept the house nosy so they are able to sleep with any noise. I have 3 dogs that love to bark, my little ankle biters. It helps when ds is napping and they bark he stays sleeping.

I got one for DS, but he was not a fan. I'm hoping this baby is more of a fan. Based on my experience I'd recommend not getting anything too expensive.

We didn't buy one for DD until it was clear her sleep sucked and we thought it might help. Jury's out on if it did... but it did drown out last night storms enough that she didn't wake up freaking out.

We have a Conair version that was under $20 off of Amazon. It has like 10 different sounds; we've always just used the white noise.

We have a pretty basic one - and I think it works great. When we turn it on, it is definitely one of his cues that it is time to sleep. And while I do think the consistency of the sound helps him sleep, it also is great for us to know that we do not have to tip toe around the house during naptime and after bed time, great noise blocker. I definitely recommend!

I LOVE white noise while sleeping, so I use a fan. I put a fan in my daughter's room for the same reason. She also has a humidifier, but I don't use both at the same time. I never tried a special type of sound machine though.
