I am wondering if anyone has any experience with this. It's kind of between the Vent & CPAP & then there's also this probe that detects respiratory effort & then gives a little help. They're talking about adding the probe but are not sure it will help since the issue isn't really apnea.
Ellie has been struggling to keep her O2 sats up & her oxygen requirements just keep climbing. She was almost on room air when she was still intubated but has been extubation for a week now & every day her O2 needs are going up, she's between 45-50% today!
They're trying to determine if its from the PDA or if she's just tiring out & needs more support. They're having the cardiologist see her today & doing an abdominal US to see if her liver hematoma is maybe preventing her lungs from inflating all the way.
