Has anyone had time limits put on there labor. I'm told I can only labor so long before they do a c-section. Is this normal or should I be looking for a new doctor.
Find a new doctor. My OB with extremely high vbac rates was even very reassuring to me that even if your water has broken, there are NO time limits! Unless baby or you are in distress, there is no reason to put a time limit on labor. Some women labor for days! Your doc and hospital are setting you up for a repeat section in my opinion.
I asked about this, and the OB says they don't put a limit on it at the hospital where I'll be delivering. So if it's something you're concerned about, you should look around for someone else.
i know hospitals usually put a time limit on labors no matter what but i think it really just depends on if your progressing. I plan on laboring at home for as long as possible and then a little longer.
Before jumping ship, I would at least see if it can be worked out. Everything should be negotiable with a reasonable person. I suggest hiring a doula and laboring at home as long as you feel comfortable. The clock doesn't start ticking until you cross the hospital's doorstep and/or tell the doc you are in labor. So, no sense in giving them ammo to help you fail.
