Prometrium, anyone?

Had a follow up today and we figured out the lab messed up my last set of bloodwork, so I'm having a repeat post-peak progesterone test.  Pending those results, my doctor has already given me a prescription for prometrium to take next cycle post peak. He said to take it right before bed since it can cause you to feel dizzy and drowsy. Google is not my friend... man have I read some horror stories. Has anyone had a decent experience with it?

If estrogen and progesterone both come back low, he said we're going to go with HCG injections instead. Should be an interesting couple of months! :)

Off BCP August 2010, NFP to avoid. Start TTC May 2011. TTA December 2011 - May 2012 doctor's orders :( TTC July 2012-January 2013. Currently pursuing Napro Technology. January 2013: Napro nurse is starting me on Vitex 3 DPO and Naproxen 8 DPO until my first appointment with the doctor. Based on my charts, they highly suspect endometriosis. image

    I took it w my iuis. It did make me drowsy, sometimes nauseous. I also think it intensified my hot flashes but that might have just been clomid lol.

    Me:29 DH:29  TTC since 1/11 Dx: unexplained IF/early DOR/immune issues 
    Feb'12- July'12-testing(all clear minus slight arcuate ute), 3 IUI with clomid all BFN
    8/30IVF#1 Antagonist protocol- ER 9/11-8R, 7M, 5F. 
    ET 9/14 2 embies transferred. 1 10cell Grade 4, 1 8cell Grade 4. No frosties. BFN
    IVF#2 Antagonist protocol plus baby aspirin- ER 12/5-16R, 12M, 8F!
    ET 12/10 5dt! 1 fully expanded blast & 1 early blast. No frosties. BFN
    3/13 hysteroscopy & polypectomy, Consulted w Dr. Kwak-Kim.  
    DX: High NK cells, cytokines, DHEAs& PAI1;  hypothyroid, +APA, restricted bloodflow
    7/13 IVF#3 Long lupron protocol with PIO, Crinone, Prometrium, and vivelle
    (plus synthroid, metformin, baby asa, metanx, PNV, Vit E, D, calcium, fish oil, CoQ10, IVIg infusions and lovenox per Dr. Kwak-kim)
    ER 7/19 14R, 11M, 9F(4 natural fert, 5 with ICSI)
    ET 5dt 7/24 2 fully expanded blasts.  SURPRISE 3 FROSTIES!!!
    Beta #1 8/2 335!!!! Beta #2 829!!!  1st u/s 8/14 showed TWINS!!!!!

    Is prometrium by mouth ( as opposed to the suppositories)?  I can't keep them straight :). Anyways, the oral progest made me horribly nauseous...like...horrible.  I then changed to suppositories.  My only complaint now is a headache every night and the leaky vag of course.

    BFP #1: 2/15/12-Ectopic/Mtx at 6 wks
    BFP #2: 10/12/12-m/c at 5 wks. 
    BFP #3: 8/27/13
    Me: MTHFR, Low AMH (1.1), High NK cells and Antiphospholipid Antibodies.
    DH:MFI-Low morph (1%), DNA fragmentation: Excellent!
    5 rounds of clomid, 3 IUIs, and multiple non-medicated cycles- BFFN                                                      
    IVF with ICSI in August 2013 brought us our babies.  ER-9R, 7M, 4F w/ICSI  ET of 2-Grade 2 blasts. 
    + HPT at 6dp5dt. #1 (8dp5dt)- 105    #2 (13dp5dt)- 510  #3 (15dp5dt)- 960  #4 (17dp5dt)- 1889
    Dx shortened cervix, PTL, and preeclampsia during pregnancy.  Lots of medications and 13 weeks of bedrest, babies were born healthy at 34w4d!

    The prescription he gave me is oral.  I did read online that you get less side effects with the suppository :(. Guess I can always ask to switch if I have problems.

    I take 200 mg oral, and aside from napping a bit more and a little bit irritable, it's not bad at all. And at least with oral pills you don't have anything oozing out of your crotch. Because my P4 is so low with LPD I now get to take the pills AND vag tabs of endometrim. FUN! Not.

    TTC since July 2009. Dx MFI & LPD.

    I have taken Prometrium and had no issue.  I also took it before bed.
