Clearing up Eczema?

What do you use for your LO's eczema? My son has a super bad flare up right now and I have tried everything. I am BFing and going to cut out sugar, dairy, and wheat. What creams and lotions do you find that work? Do you bathe daily or every other day? I have used Aquafor, Aveeno, Eucerin, and an organic baby eczema product from CVS. Nothing works. Help please!

    My daughter has it super bad, too.  I found that eliminating dyes and fragrances helped her most.  The main culprit was her body wash.  We also use babyganics dye scent free eczema cream from Target.  Our pedi prescribed her steroid cream for when it's super bad but since changing her body wash we've only had to use it once or twice.

    Our Lo didn't have it too bad but on the few spots he had the only thing that cleared it up with the California Baby eczema product...it went away in a little over a day! Good luck!

    We just asked this at our 9 month appt! Our pedi said use hydrocortisone for 2 weeks maximum, twice a day until it's cleared up and use Vanicream lotion. You can get it at Lewis or Hyvee grocery stores, not sure what stores are in your area but try Walgreen, CVS or your grocery store. It's amazing!! This cleared up LO's eczema in 3 days! I bought Vanicream Lite Lotion for my face that was so dry it was flaking and cracking and it is smooth and moisturized now!

    Our pedi prescribed steroid cream but said not to use it on his face because it thins the skin.  But of course on his face is where it is the worst.  We tried everything, every brand of eczema cream, and what finally ended up working the best was Basis sensitive skin bar (which I could only find at Walgreens) and Cetaphil.  But it would still get pretty bad so finally his pedi prescribed Elidel which worked like magic.

    We switched to the Honest Company products because nothing was helping DS. He's doing pretty well with the switch. I'm sort of in love with the whole line from the cleaners to the skin care and a sucker for the cute diapers.

    My daughter also get eczema pretty bad at times. Most of the time Aquafor or Cetaphil restoraderm helps. However, this last time nothing seemed to work, my pedi also prescibed a stronger cream, and it worked like a charm my LO was all cleared up in less than 24 hrs! If nothing OTC seems to be working, I'd def go dee your pedi and see what he/she says.

    We live in the mountains and, in the winter, my son's eczema was TERRIBLE! I know it sounds crazy but I COVER him twive a day in coconut oil. It took about 2 weeks and I did still use cortizone on the really bad patches (while I was still breastfeeding, I used breastmilk and that worked THE BEST!) but ever since then, the eczema is well under control. In fact, I rarely even notice it. I can't be sure if it will work with your son since it might be caused by any number of things but I highly recommend it! I'm nervous about putting steroids on cenrtain parts of LO's body. Plus, if they happen to swallow coconut oil - who cares! I also use it for myself as I get eczema on my arms in the dry months and it works well. The hard part is, you have to keep it up. Give it a month before you throw in the towel. You can use it more than 2x a day. I use it in place of lotion since so many lotions have alcohol or other drying ingredients. Also, we do baths every other day with mustela for eczema.
