Baby Trend Expedition vs City Mini GT

I am trying to decided on a stroller to use outdoors. Both strollers seem nice and obviously there is significant price difference. I wondering if anyone has any input on either one. Is this your everyday stroller as well or do you have another stroller that you use. Thanks for any help.

We have the GT and we use it for both our everyday stroller and for outdoor use - e.g., regular walks in our neighborhood and on non-paved areas.  I love it. It's a great all round stroller, IMO.

  • We have the GT and are very happy with it. It is our everyday stroller. It handles uneven surfaces like a charm. Anything specific you want to know?
  • I have the Baby Trend Expedition - we don't use a stroller often, but it's the one we use most often (besides the cheap-o umbrella stroller).

I can't compare it to the City Mini, so I'll just tell you my issues with it:

My biggest issue is folding it and getting it in/out of the car. You have to recline the seat to get it to fold enough to lock it closed...and then it often doesn't stay closed. I've pinched my fingers multiple times in it because the little latch doesn't stay hooked on the knob - I've had to learn where to grab it. Since I have to recline the seat to fold it all the way closed, I have to readjust the seat to sitting up every time I open it. The big tires make it bulky in the cargo space of my SUV.

The things I like - it maneuvers well, DS seems to be comfortable in it, it's sturdy, and I can jog with it.

We got it because of the price - I wanted a jogging stroller because I wanted to jog, but didn't want to invest in an expensive one because I didn't know if I'd keep up with jogging. It works for us, but if I had more money to spend, I would have chosen something different.
