she called in yesterday, texting me all day about how sick she was. today she just sits around complaining about how much she has to do to catch up. i gave her a lunch break at 12 and saved mine till right now.

so, this whole time i have been on my luch break she has been either on the phone making personal calls, standing beside me complaining about her job, and is now outside smoking. all the time leaving me to take care of answering the phone and the door as customers come in and out.

i know everyone takes a little advantage while their bosses are out of the office, but when her laziness takes away from my lunch break, its a little unfair.

btw, she's the on that got pregnant and doesnt want the baby. she's supposed to be quiting smoking, but this is her 4th cig since work started.

Sounds like a peach. I would bring it up casually to your supervisor, "so when I am on my lunch, I don't want to cover for Sarah's smoke breaks anymore", let them get the hint.

I wouldn't do the whole boss tattling thing. I would just ask her nicely to be more considerate to you and your lunch break cause you need it to make a healthy baby; subtly throwing in her face the damage she's doing to hers.?

I always leave the office to take my lunch break. The few times I try to take one at my desk I end up doing what you're talking about. Sorry you have to work with her...
