Hi everybody, I started lurking on here since I am expecting #2

With my DD, I had planned for a natural med free birth (in a hospital with a doula). My labor started slowly one night but didn't progress until REAL pain until more than 36 hours later. By the time I was admitted to the hospital, I was barely at 4cm but having contractions coming in ever minute lasting for 90 seconds. Long story short, I let the nurse scare me into a epidural (b/c my dr. told me since I wasn't progressing I could either go home or if I stayed there I would need to be induced). Even with the pitocin I only dilated maybe 2 more cm (probably in about 4 hours)before they told me the baby's heartbeat was not great and they had to do the c section. In the operating room, I did hear one of the dr.s say that DD's head was slightly crooked off to the side (which could explain the painful contractions coming so quickly at only 4cm). So now I think due to her position (and the pitocin) this is maybe why I didn't progress fast enough.
Anyhow, this time around I am with a midwife practice that has a very high vbac success rate. They recommend to their patients a special diet, to avoid medical interventions, and be ready to labor and birth in different positions (rather than the traditional lying on your back giving birth method). I am just wondering if there are any others like me who had a similar first time situation and went onto having a successful vbac. I am dreading another loooooong painful labor but I am willing to take it on one last time since this will be probably be my last child. Thanks all and good luck with your vbacs!

No reason it won't be for you too! Good luck!
That's great it worked out. Crossing my fingers I am lucky and get my vbac this time around
The midwife practice I'm with this time around suggests no processed foods, sugar, bread, white flour.... Basically no foods your ancestors would not recognize. There's a couple of other things they suggest as well that I can't think of at the moment but I keep a list so I do not forget!
