Success after IF

Wipes and DC

If your LO is in DC, how often do you have to bring wipes?  I just brought wipes not last week, but the end of the week before.  And yesterday they requested more wipes.  That's only like 7 or so days of DC, and it was one of the large refill bags that go inside the boxes.  Doesn't that seem like way too quickly to go through wipes?

We don't have to supply our own wipes, only diapers but that does seem like an awful lot. I would question them on it. Myabe they switched them mistakenly with another child's?

I was asked to bring in more diapers not long after the pervious time and when I questioned them they said the aide was going on vacation and wanted to make sure everything would be well covered in her absence. Maybe there is a good explanation so I would definitely ask.

    Good luck!

  • That seems like a lot to me but my child only poops once every other day.  My nanny started watching another baby at my house about a month ago.  That baby poops all day long.  Since we've had the other baby in the house we go through a large bag like that in a week.

Hmm. I did question them on it, but I never see the main teacher. I drop off with a teacher from another room bc we're so early, and I pick up with the afternoon teacher. The afternoon teacher doesn't know why we are going through so many. We don't go through nearly that many at home. And hasn't been going through that's many at DC until this new teacher. Maybe she's just really liberal with the wipes.

That definitely seems like a ton of wipes to go through that quickly. About a month ago I dropped a pack of diapers with DD in the morning after they told me she was running low the day before. When I picked her up that evening they told me she was completely out of diapers. Turns out one of the morning teachers had accidentally put DD's diapers in another childs cubby. No big deal, we found them and moved them. Maybe someone else got your wipes?

  • Yeah, that seems like a lot. Our DC provides wipes for us. Maybe they mixed up your wipes and used them for another baby as well so they ran out faster? We have had mix ups with stuff at our daycare. It happens. Hopefully it doesn't continue to happen now that you brought it up.

  • I don't bring DS to day care, but this seems like a crazy amount of wipes to me. I would definitely question them about it. They can use a wash rag or a paper towel to wipe down the table or a drool cloth to wipe LO's face. Something isn't right there, and it is going to get expensive.

  • I think it depends - are they also using the wipes to clean her up after meals/snacks? If so, they'll get used faster. I bring wipes about every 3 weeks or so (the large huggies refill bag), but I also provide washcloths to clean her face/hands with. Many of the other children are cleaned up with their wipes.
