Credit Freeze?

So I opened an account in LO's name at my credit union today.  My mom says I should now put a credit freeze on her SSN.  Is this necessary?  If so, does anyone know how to go about do it?  TIA

    You Call The Credit Bureaus. The Ones Who Do The Credit Reporting. They Can Flag Her Ssn And Call You If Someone Tries To Apply For Credit.

    TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!
