Hello. 4 weeks ago I gave birth to my DS Nicolas by c section. I am recovering well and more importantly, the baby is doing great! I went to get a checkup they weighed me. I was disappointed to learn I'm only 15lbs down since delivering him...especially because he was 9lbs. It is driving me crazy not to exercise yet and I am breastfeeding so my calorie loss at this point is mainly from nursing him.
My question is am I losing too slowly? Am I over thinking it? I gained a little less than forty lbs. Anyone who can share experience or just give encouragement? Hope everyone is recovering well and that all these LOs are happy and healthy too

With DD1 I gained around 50 lbs. It took a long time to lose the weight. I still had those annoying 5 pounds to lose when I got pg with DD2.
It takes time, so don't worry. If you can get outside and walk, do that until you can truly work out.
With DS1 I gained about 20 lbs and lost the weight within a couple of weeks PP, however it took quite a few months before my belly looked normal again. This time I gained 45 lbs (oops) and have lost about 25 in these first few weeks. But I still can't quite fit into my larger sized jeans because of the stretched out skin. I'm hoping to get some nice weather soon so I can get out and walk, otherwise any real exercise will have to wait until I'm cleared at the 6 week PP check. Give it some time, but remember it takes many months to gain that weight and several months for everything to get back to its place!
ETA, I had a c/s both times and had that "shelf" left both times and that's what took the longest to go away.
FWIW, the pounds didn't start coming off for me until about 4 weeks PP and I FF.
I think everyone loses at their own pace. For me personally, I gained 33lbs while pregnant. After my C-section, I lost 15 lbs within the first couple weeks then it really slowed down. In addition to breastfeeding, I started eating very healthy and going to the gym around 6 weeks and I was back to my pre pregnancy weight by 11 weeks.
Try not to put to much pressure on yourself. Maybe start out by looking at your diet and going for walks (as much as you feel comfortable doing). You will lose the weight eventually. Hang in there!
