Tummy sleepers

Now that DS is rolling more, I find him all over the place in his crib. He seems to prefer to sleep on him tummy. Anyone else have a tummy sleeper? If not, does your baby prefer to sleep another way?

It still makes me nervous, because he smooshes his little face into the mattress and I constantly feel like I need to go check on him. He's not that great at rolling from front to back and still needs a little help sometimes getting back over.

D was a side sleeper. But he seems to alternate now between tummy and side. It does not stress me out as much now that he seems to be able to get from tummy to back easier. But before when he would end up on his tummy in his sleep he would wake up crying because he was stuck.

M is a tummy sleeper. He likes to smoosh his face into the mattress as well, but I know that he is able to move about pretty well so I don't worry.

I probably wouldn't mind so much if he didn't faceplant right into the mattress. I leave him be, but DH flips out and moves him each time. I've stopped telling DH, because I don't want him to wake him up when he is really fine.

Yep, tummy sleeper here too. He will sleep on his side as well, but never his back anymore. When he first goes down, he goes directly on his side. After an hour or so, he is always on his tummy. He bascially smashes his face too. I was concerned at first, but he has been doing it for quite some time now, so I am just used to it. He is quite good at rolling both ways though, so that helps my comfort level.

I just started putting H down on his stomach at night. Holy uninterrupted sleep, Batman! He turns his head to the side, which makes me feel better. APA, he is a very good roller.

Hallie sleeps on her tummy sometimes. It depends on the night. But she rolls really well and turns her head

This. DS has always been one though. He has refused since day one to sleep on his back or side.

F discovered tummy sleeping all of a sudden one night, and has never slept any other way since. I was totally fine with it from the get go because he's a really great roller/wiggler, etc. DH took some time to get used to the idea...

Yep, tummy sleeper here. Most nights anyway. He always rolls to his side to fall asleep. But I usually find him on his belly eventually.

LO is a tummy sleeper. He is starting to sleep with his butt up in the air which is absolutley adorable. The only time it freaks me out is when he moves to the very bottom of his crib and falls out of sight with the monitor. I freak out that he somehow flipped out of his crib. Yes, I know this is totally irrational lol.

When I told my pedi that dd sleeps on her tummy he said "we'll she has good head control, so it's fine." She is a super roller but he indicated it was being able to lift and turn their head that made the difference. If your lo can do that we'll then I wouldn't worry.
