Hello ladies, so I have been on the hunt for a face wash that will be safe for "baby" and I am wondering if anyone has any recommendations? My skin has been breaking out more than normal and I know I can't use face washes with salicylic acid because it's not good for baby. What are you ladies using for your skin care routine (wash, lotions, etc?).
Thanks!

Re: Face Wash Recommendations?
I hadn't heard salicylic acid is bad for baby. Just when I feel like I'm reading everything I can get my hands on, I realize I still know nothing!
I've been using Cetaphil for a few years now. Very gentle and their moisturizers are great, too. I have combination skin that has definitely been moodier since my BFP. Oh, I use the Walmart brand and it works just as well. But at Costco you can get 2 giant bottles for $17 I think. Great deal.

I'm using the same things I was using before...I have a Mary Kay wash, yes to Tomatoes wash and Cetaphil.
I did stop using my ROC moisturizer because it has AHAs in it and I need to check that with my OB.

I've been using an Aveeno daily facial scrub. I forget the actual name.
A friend of mine had really bad acne while she was pregnant and her doctor recommended Gunilla of Sweden. She said it was pricey but awesome.
I don't believe that salicylic acid thing. TAKING aspirin by mouth (or Advil) isn't good for the baby only because it can promote bleeding. I can't imagine splashing a little on your face will do much harm.
For me, though, it's Dove all the way.

I had adult acne when I was pregnant with my DD, my OB suggested Cetaphil & I've been using it ever since.
I'm using Aveeno moisturizer but I better recheck my label when I get home.
Really? What did it do? I've used it for years and years and never had any problems with it. I'm curious!

It was so weird! I got the recommendation from my dermatologist, and I had heard good things so I figured I'd be set. But my skin was really flaky, and it would get red and blotchy and did nothing for breakouts at all.

I had this same question!! I switched out almost all of my products after learning how many potentially harmful ingredients are in them. It's very frustrating because my hair and skin just isn't the same. I used to use Chanel makeup and Sothy's skin care but I recently found out that many of the daily products I use contain parbens, phthalates, sodium lauryl/laureth sulfates, etc. (if you're not sure how/why these are harmful go here: https://safecosmetics.org/article.php?id=290) I don't want to drive myself crazy with all this but I think it's important to try.
I started using a Burts Bees face wash and hate it. The smell is awful and I don't like what it does to my skin. So I'm also open to suggestions for the products that don't contain parabens and phthalates!! Does anyone else also know of good shampoo and conditioner without these ingredients? I tried the shampoo from the Honest Company line and it really felt like it was stripping my hair.
BTW I wanted to use Cetaphyl too and found out it has parabens. :-/
As for a suggestion, Seventh Generation has a good body wash!
I recommended Trader Joe's brand below. They also have hair and body wash is 3 "flavors". I use the Tea Tree oil tingle. Their coconut body butter is AH-MA-ZING. It smells like marshmallows.
