So I'm doing weekly ultrasounds until my first ob appt on June 13. Our second u/s will be Friday, and according to FF chart/O day, I will be 5w5d. Wondering if anyone has had any luck seeing a heartbeat that early. I know we might have to wait til the next week, but I'm pretty anxious to see something. I'm scouring the internet for other experiences but would love to hear if any of you have any you could share.
TIA!!
Re: Early ultrasound - anyone get a heartbeat before 6w?
Actually I saw both of my sons' heartbeats just shy of 6 weeks. I went in at 5w4d with this one and the OB said he saw a "possible" heartbeat but wasn't completely sure. Going back on Thursday and hopefully we'll see a definite one!
So, I would say its possible, but don't freak out if you don't see one.

In my last pregnancy I had an u/s at 5w4d and there was a sac, yolk, and a fetal pole. No heartbeat. I went back at a little shy of 8 weeks and saw the heartbeat.
Why so many ultrasounds? I have two losses and am high risk but I wouldn't ever agree to that many. It just seems like it might cause you more anxiety than it will cure.

I've had a history of m/c back in 2004/2005 and I have two clotting disorders so I am on Lovenox injections from start to almost finish, at which point I will switch to Heparin in the last 6 weeks.
As for the early u/s, it's just what she does for high risk. Idk if it's more for me or her, but it doesn't bother me. I sometimes worry about the stress of m/c but I'm pretty relaxed about the whole thing really. So I'll just take the extra snapshots we get of baby and enjoy the process. But I could totally understand why it would cause some people a lot of stress waiting each week.
Last week we only saw the sac, and the tech was pretty tickled that they detected it so early. Not being a high risk/fertility office must mean they don't see a lot of early pregnancy u/s. She showed our pic of our little bubble to everyone. You woulda thought it was her baby!
The earliest I had an u/s was last pregnancy at 6w3d and we saw the heartbeat right away. I'll definitely feel better once I do see it, but I won't be worried if I don't see it this week.
Thanks for sharing, girls! So glad to hear it's a real-life possibility rather than just an internet-info possibility.
And even more excited about the 5w5d mark...that's where I'll be! Hope we get to see something, but if we don't, I'll just have to wait a grueling week. Baaah!
