Residual follicle??

I just went for my baseline appt and the nurse said they will most likely not let me proceed this month.  I have a "huge" residual follicle (22 mm).  I don't understand how that happens, especially when last month was a break cycle. The nurse I saw this morning (not one of my favorites) didn't seem to know what was going on.  She said they'll check my estrogen level and call me this afternoon after she meets with my RE.

I'm beyond frustrated.  Re-cap:  It took a long time to decide to do IVF, then a few months to get our finances figured out.  Our first attempt was canceled because I didn't stimulate.  We settled for an IUI (our 6th), which didn't work and were forced to take a break before starting again.  AF arrived on Sunday and I was really excited to get things moving again, only to find out this cycle might be another bust.  WTF?  Why is there a random leftover follicle hanging around???

ARGH!! 

DD conceived naturally in 2009.  TTC #2 since August 2010.  Praying for guidance as we decide what's next.

    That stinks!  Maybe after your b/w, they will decide the chances are still good, and go ahead and proceed.  I hope so, and that it's a success.

    Me: 42. DH: 46.

    1st Pregnancy: MC, 11/19/00.

    2nd Pregnancy: DS born 04/10/06.

    3rd Pregnancy: CP, 03/11.

    4th Pregnancy: MMC, D&C 11/30/11, Genetic testing revealed Trisomy 4.

    5th Pregnancy: Ectopic, 2 doses of Methotrexate unsuccessful, surgery 4/10/12, right tube removed.

    Tried Letrozole January 2013-July 2013 (including 2 IUIs), all BFN.  After 2 1/2 years of trying for child #2, decided to "give up" after July cycle, based on AMA.

    August 16, 2013:  BFP our first month of "not trying!"  Still in shock.  Beta #1 (14dpo): 183.  Beta #2 (17dpo):  611.  Ultrasound 8/30/13: baby measured 6 weeks, 1 day, heart rate of 118 bpm! 
    Ultrasound 9/13/13:  8 weeks, heart rate of 176!
    Baby is due 4/26/14

    I do not get this. I will ask to talk to the doc and see what she or he thinks. Best of luck and I hope you get to cycle this month.
