vacation!

taking DS to Florida next week..so excited for a little vacation. It will be his first time going to the beach!

Any recommendations with taking toddler to beach and must haves! =)

    Sounds so fun!! Hope you guys really enjoy yourself :) 

    We just got back from 2 weeks in Hawaii, and DD loved, loved, loved the beach!! You definitely need the obvious things... a hat, a SPF protected swimsuit that covers as much skin as possible (we got DD's at Costco - it's a one peice that goes all the way to her ankles and wrists), and 60 SPF sunscreen (spray on was SO much better than lotion... she hated the lotion). 

    If you have room, an umbrella is useful, but not necessary... it's not like they willingly stay under it for that long, but we got DD to play under if for a while each day, and that was a relief. Oh, a sippy cup of water all. the. time! It might be a good idea to have a little cooler, so you can keep his (and your) water and lunch cold and refreshing... We had a fridge and freezer at the condo that we used, and we had popsicles too, which was awesome. 

    Sand toys! We were staying at a condo that already had 6-7 little sand toys... a shovel, bucket, and various scoops and shapes, etc, and those were a huge hit. She really didn't need anything more than that.

    Otherwise... we buried her in the sand a lot, which was funny. And waded out in the ocean and jumped waves with her. And played in the shallows. Built sand castles. Caught crabs... and watched birds... and went on all sorts of fun adventures around town.   It was really awesome... I'm sad it's over!

    OH MY!!! thanks! I am super excited now!  We got similar suit from Costco too!  I will make sure to get the spray sunblock and some sand toys =) 

    I bought him some water/sandals yesterday. I can't wait to take him to the beach.

    Hey were you able to take regular milk through security on the plane?  I know we were allowed to take formula and BM but not sure about regular milk.

    Hmmm... I'm not sure about the milk. What you could do is bring a empty sippy cup, them wait til you're through security and see if there's a starbucks or somewhere similar that could fill it up with whole milk. I just got ours filled with water, and sucking it helped her ears pop during take off and landing. I also brought a crap load of crackers and snacks, etc, and whenever she got fussy, I just gave her a handful of food, haha.

    Hmmm... I'm not sure about the milk.
