Sleep help...or night waking?

DD was a great sleeper until six months and now she eats 24/7 and I've been okay with it thinking its b/c she's been growing (physically and mentally) like crazy!  But I'm beginning to wonder if I need to cut off the middle of the night boob/s.

tonight I nursed her to sleep in her room and then left her in the crib. Three hours later she up howling.  But she's wet so I change her and she's still hysterical.  I can't tell if she's awake or not but she's not happy.  I finally give up walking with her, rocking her, trying to nurse her, ect. And think that maybe its her teeth so I give her tylonel and now she's happy and nursing to sleep.  I will put her in her crib when she's done.  I have no issue nursing her to sleep since she's only been able to put her self to sleep a couple of times.

any  ideas? I don't think she's taking advantage but maybe. The ped told me to let her cry a bit but I will not be doing CIO.  I do let her fuss but she goes all hysterical like DS if left o long and won't calm down.

Could it be a growth spurt? Or possibly teeth? I know Ev gets really upset and uncomfortable when he's teething and he is up all night. Sometimes he will want to nurse every time, sometimes he won't. You know your kiddo, but I'm guessing if she's eating when you try to nurse her, she's hungry.

I will say that it could be that you're putting her down asleep also. At this stage they are starting to remember that we exist. So when falling asleep at the breast, and waking up in their crib it's like if we were to wake up in the kitchen after going to sleep in bed. There are a lot of no-cry techniques you could try to see if they will help. Look up the No-Cry Sleep Solution and Baby Whisperer, both have good suggestions that don't involve CIO. Good luck!

Awesome analogy!  I agree with everything in the above post. We did Ferber, but still continue to nurse him 1-2x/night because he does eat and not simply suck and fall asleep.  I do make sure I always do a diaper after nursing so he's awake when he gets placed back in the crib.

Teething could certainly be a possibility, although it's always been tough for me to tell if it's teething or he's just being extra fussy.  Like PP said, you don't have to resort to a CIO method - whichever method you choose just be consistent.  Good luck!
