Trouble TTC

Repeat SA day - DH drama

So the DH had his repeat SA this morning. Collection at home went fine, but then I couldn't get him up and going! He had 30 minutes to get it to the lab, which is on Post, through security, during morning rush. So naturally he was annoyed I was rushing him, I was annoyed because I told him all of this plenty of times. When he finally left, he had 19 minutes to get there! I was sure he wouldn't make it. Ugh!

The good news is he made it with 1 minute to spare! Now hopefully he'll survive his blood work because needles make him sick. Yep, he's a little bit of a baby! Lol.

Good morning ladies. Here's to a great day, no dummies to throat punch and pee sticks that only show good new!

Re: Repeat SA day - DH drama

  • Ooo men. They are so silly. GL with the results!

I'm curious, how quickly do you usually get the results, and do they call you or do you call them? I ask because my DH had trouble getting his results, the PC doctor didn't know how to read it, neither did the OB. DH had to call the lab and they told him "everything must be normal because it didn't flag a urology consult" :/

Don't expect any replies, and stop PMing me. This account is no longer being used and is waiting for the bump gods to deactivate it.

  • Glad he got there in time :). FWIW, my RE office said that if you keep it warm next to your body, it would technically be OK for up to 2 hrs.  I've never chanced it, but a couple minutes prob isn't a big deal.  I definitely won't be telling DH this though, he's the same way, takes his sweet time.  FX for good results.

I cheat a little because I work at the hospital. So last time I actually had the urologist bring them up and go over them while at work. The results are back within hours, but my OB didn't call me for a week last time.

This time I plan on calling my doctor tomorrow to go over the results because I know how quickly they are back. Even if they can't "read" the results, the lab should have parameters for what is normal and what isn't. I'd ask all the numbers or a copy of the results. Sorry you have such trouble. GL!

Awww, I hope he's feeling better by now.

And at the same time, isn't it kinda funny the way that some people ham the whole thing up?! My DH makes such a scene when he gets a paper cut - you'd think he cut his arm of the way he reacts! Hahaha, love him anyway :)

  • Poor guy!  Sometimes I think if men had to go through some of the procedures/logistics women do for IF they would have a pretty rough go of it!  Glad he got there in time and is feeling better!
  • When DH had his first SA and it was suboptimal he said it was because I was rushing him, haha. I told him for the repeat he can do it on his day off when I'm at work.

My husband is a big baby when it comes to blood work too. I just talk about it and he gets pale. He came with me to my CD3 appointment and watched the nurse draw my blood. He almost fainted.
