We use Summers video monitor. I do have a regular monitor that I think is cool but I have to wait until Sophia is awake to check brand. It's cool because the base tells you the temp of room.
We use a Summer Day/Night video monitor for our bedroom. We also have an audio monitor. I think it's Safety First? We've had and used both for about two years now. My bosses had their summer video monitor for 2.5 years before it broke, and I'm pretty sure it only broke because it fell off the shelf lol.
Why/how do your monitors keep breaking?

Well, we had a BabyCall that was awesome. We got it for a shower gift 5 years ago when I was pregnant with Liam. He played with it, and then we dropped it down the stairs, taped it up, it still worked. Finally we dropped it again and had to replace it. I think they changed it after the first model we had. Because, every BabyCall after that one has sucked. They beep all of the time and eventually stop working all together. About a week ago we bought a Safety First Digital monitor. It worked well for like two days, but as soon as we used the fan in his room we couldn't hear him AT ALL, it was just static.

I just checked our brand again...Sony babycall. We do get the beeping, but usually it just needs moved a few inches to stop.

I checked the brand of our regular monitor and its Safety First. I don't use it often so I can't tell you how great it is but I like the temp thingy on the base.
We have a Summer audio monitor. Had it since DD1 was born. It's worked well enough for us and was rather inexpensive, if I recall correctly. The battery is dead so we need to get a new one, but I don't think it's much of a surprise considering how long we've had it.
