Looking for some party theme suggestions.. We are having DSs first birthday celebration on June 29th.. About 2 weeks early, because I'm due to have LO2 in July, also, and don't want to take any chances!!
A bit about the party... We have about 75 people to invite.. Planning to do a BBQ for food... Burgers, dogs, chicken, etc.. I was thinking about having a small kiddie pool and sprinkler filled for some of the kids, but I undecided if that's wise...
im trying to think of a cute theme... It's so hard to plan because I anticipate being outside, but then depending on weather, we may not be...
some ideas I'm kicking around... Dr. Seuss (but, this was my shower theme)... Maybe an underwater theme... Fish and turtles and such... A 4th of July theme, since its the Saturday before the 4th...
Im drawing a blank!! I want something cute and creative, but also not an overwhelming amount of work since ill be wayyyy pregnant, and still working full time!!

Thanks, guys!! I was thinking pirate themed
I did check out pinterest, but I am not too great at navigating it (I don't use it often!!), so I didn't really find too much.. I'll have to stalk it more later
I was thinking exactly this.. but, then I was thinking.. young kids and a kiddie pool means parents will have to be right there.. which means parents will be getting wet, too.. At least, I know DS will constantly want to be in and out, and if he's still not walking in 5ish weeks, this will mean DH or I will be getting all wet, too, from picking him up and such! So, me "hosting" and DH will probably be in charge of grill might make that a bit difficult!! But, I think my bigger (and more selfish hesitation!!) is that there's a range in the ages of "kids".. which means, if I have water activities outside in the yard, it'll get muddy.. which means kids will then be tracking mud all through the house.. we have 2 sets of sliders on the deck.. one leads to the kitchen, which wouldn't be a big deal b/c it's tile.. but the other leads to the family room, which only has tile right at the sliders and then leads to carpet.. between wet kids and wet dog (nearly impossible to keep him outta the water), I just think it'll make for a huge mess.. but I could be overthinking it.
We just did a safari theme for DD's 2nd bday. It came out so cute! The plates/napkins we found online had lots of beautiful colors, so you could easily pull accent colors to make it for boys or girls. Wasn't a ton of work either as far as decorations - I matched our streamers, balloons and cake colors to the accent colors I chose. Found safari buckets at IParty to put a few things in for kids favors. And a safari happy birthday sign and some dangling safari animals to decorate wall, light fixtures, etc.
Your other theme ideas are great too - any of them would work!
