breastfeeding & period

i posted in breastfeeding but got no reply hopefully you ladies can give me some feedback, dd is 21 mths, we have ebf for 21 mths. over the past few weeks, dd has cut back on nursing during the day bc she is too busy playing/being outside etc, my question is i just got my period and i am not sure what this will do to my supply. any insight would be appreciated, thanks!

    Getting your period will not affect your supply. If you are concerned about your supply for any other reason, you can always offer to nurse more frequently. Best of luck!

    I first got my period back around 5 months even though Dd was EBF. I would notice a fairly significant drop the day before, and then day 1 of my period, but then it would go back to normal.

    Just drink lots of water and, if your LO is still nursing for the nourishment part, they may want to nurse a little more often to get what they are used to getting.
