My mom is very sweet...and she's always been the peace-love-and-hippie type. I usually love that about her, but when it comes to IF, it can be a little frustrating - especially since I was an oopsie, so she doesn't know the emotions I deal with.
I went home this weekend for a belated Mother's Day celebration. She emails me today with a list of herbs I should take (which I appreciate) and tells me that if I ever get serious about having a baby, that I should stop eating cheese and red meat. She was disappointed that when we went out to a Mexican restaurant, I ordered queso and an adult beverage. Ugh....
IF I get serious?? Hello....I think spending over a thousand dollars and going through a surgery already shows I'm serious. I know she's oober healthy (hasn't drank alcohol or eaten meat in years), but it's not like I walk around with a queso and margarita IV around all day. Plus, I had just gotten my period that day!! Let a girl have a drink!!!
Re: Love my mother, but...(vent)
I'm sorry about her insensitive and ignorant comments. Of course eatting healthy is important, but really if thats all it took I am pretty sure everyone here would gladly give up the junk food and alcohol. Try not to let it bother you, I'm sure she wasn't saying it to hurt you.
TTC since March 2012
DX PCOS, HSG Clear, SA Low Morphology
4/13 - 7/13: Clomid 50mg twice, Clomid 100mg once
8/13 - 11/13: New RE & Redoing all tests
12/13: Hopefully start Femera 2.5mg
Aww I'm so sorry! That "if you get serious" bit stings. You have all the cheese, red meat & booze you want unless your Dr tells you otherwise.
P.S. If you figure out how to set up a queso & margarita IV, hook me up!
I've also heard that cheese/ dairy are good for IF. Keep your chin up!
