Late Term and Child Loss

***Siggy warning and sensitive content***Possible Miscarriage (rp from 1st tri)

I found out I'm pregnant about 3 weeks ago (supposed to be 6w now) and had a confirmed blood test. Yesterday was my first prenatal appointment and I knew to expect some cramping and spotting after a pap and a pelvic. As the evening progressed, I had some moderate cramping (uncomfortable enough to mention it) and spotting. We went to see a movie and at the end of the movie i stood up and blood started gushing out of me. We went to the ER where the bleeding tapered off (after passing a LOT of clots), and after 7 hours there i know NOTHING. They did an ultrasound which was "inconclusive". The doctor said it could just be bleeding, it could be a miscarriage, it could be ectopic. He didn't know. I'm really really upset. I now have to wait until Monday to find out for sure what I feel like I already know, but I'm holding on to a small piece of hope. Anyone have experience with excessive bleeding/passing clots/cramping and have a good ending with it? I don't even know how to feel right now.

  • I am very sorry for what you are going through, but maybe the miscarriage/pregnancy loss board would be better to seek advice. This board is for people who experienced late losses or children that have become angels at an older age. I really hope it all works out for you.

I'm sorry you're going through this.  I disagree with about posting on the miscarriage board unless you know for a fact you're having one.  Bleeding doesn't automatically mean miscarriage - my daughter was born healthy after I bled for weeks during 1st tri.  Hoping for the best for you.

  • I'm so sorry that you are going through this! And I hope for the best for you. I started bleeding @ 11wks 6days and didn't stop until my loss. The majority of which was manageable but some of it was scary major bleeds. I had 4 of them, and held out hope that they would stop by the time I was 6 months but ended up with a placental abruption at 21wks.... Good Luck
