LO3 is due in Sept. Nothing is standing out to me as "the one" for names. So please answer the following questions. I am looking for inspiration, so I hope to get a variety of answers. I don't want to narrow the field by describing the type of names we usually like.
Please give girls and boys names.
1. What are some names that you think are refreshing to hear?
2. What old lady/old man names would you like to see more often?
3. Name your guilty pleasure names.
4. Name your favorite nature-y (is that a word?) names.
5. Find 5 names from the SSA list that are between 500-1000 in popularity that you like.
Feel free to inspire me in other ways too!
Re: I need inspiration.
1. What are some names that you think are refreshing to hear? I love the name Isla for a girl but have been told it is becoming "trendy", which is totally not my style. Also a fan of Clementine, which isn't popular at all. I personally think it's refreshing to see a child with a real name that is spelled correctly, not something made up or "youneekly" spelled.
2. What old lady/old man names would you like to see more often? Girls: Celeste, Estelle/Estella, Josephine, Lucille, Olive. Boys: Ernest, George, Henry, Roland, Theodore.
3. Name your guilty pleasure names. Girl: January, Luna (DH thinks they're too weird). Boy: Finnegan (DH hates it)
4. Name your favorite nature-y (is that a word?) names. Not a huge fan of nature names. If I had to choose, I guess Aspen or Brooke for a girl are ok and Finn would be my choice for a boy.
5. Find 5 names from the SSA list that are between 500-1000 in popularity that you like. Girls: Annika, Cecelia, Hattie, Lorelei, Winter (this is our top girl name); Boys: Rhett, Brett, Soren, Deacon, Conrad.
1. What are some names that you think are refreshing to hear? I love to hear traditional names that you don't hear often anymore: Mary, Rachel, Helen, Phillip, Mark, Timothy, etc.
2. What old lady/old man names would you like to see more often? Ramona, Margot, Beatrix, Linus, Amos, George
3. Name your guilty pleasure names. I love male-derivative names for girls: Theodora, Maxine, Georgeanna, Phillipa, Wilhelmina, Willa, Antonia, etc.
4. Name your favorite nature-y (is that a word?) names. Wren, Olive, Ivy for girls, River for a boy.
5. Find 5 names from the SSA list that are between 500-1000 in popularity that you like.
