I am about 6 weeks along and utterly failing at making this week's grocery list because I am repulsed by the thought of most foods! The only thing I can even think of stomaching is cheese and crackers. Bland stuff sounds nice, but I doubt a week of rice and oatmeal will be appealing to my husband. ![]()
Any ideas for meals that will be somewhat exciting, but that won't incite my gag reflex? Worth noting: most meat, with the exception of deli meat, is out of the question (yes, I have heard that I'm supposed to heat the deli meat before I eat it). Sweets are a problem, too.
Thanks!
Re: Help with strong food aversions
I was okay with making the list, but actually walking through the grocery store got me. Especially the freezer aisle; something about the pictures on the boxes...I couldn't handle it. It still makes me a little queasy.
I've hit the point where I'm hungry, but half of what I think I want to eat ends up tasting horrible. Like PP said, first trimester is just about getting through it. Eat what you can, stay hydrated. Hubby can fend for himself for a little while.

This. I used to eat mostly salads and steamed veggies. Just looking at raw vegetables makes me sick and the thought of broccoli sends me into a gagging fit. Even saltines made me gag today.
