Today is CD12 for me, and I had an u/s this morning to measure follicles.

This cylce I was on 2.5mg of Femara CD4-8 (this is my first medicated cycle). Today's u/s showed 2 measurable follicles on the right side -- one at 17mm and one at 14.5mm. I was a little disappointed b/c last cycle I had a 21mm follicle on the right and I was unmedicated. The Dr explained to me that she felt the Femara had actually slowed down my cycle to allow the follicles to better mature. Last cycle I surged with an OPK on CD13. The Dr. said that it does not look like I am ready to O just yet, so things may have slowed a bit.

The plan is to wait it out for 2 days and hope the follicles continue to grow. I need to use the OPKs in the morning tomorrow and Wed and see if I detect a surge. If I do not surge on my own before Wednesday AM, then I will trigger with Ovidrel on Wednesday night and have the IUI on Friday AM. I am really hoping that I do not surge on my own before Wednesday for multiple reasons... number 1 is that I want to give my follicles plenty of time to continue to grow, the second big reason is that the whole purpose of using the ovidrel trigger was to better time the IUI and make sure that all of the mature follicles drop during O, AND I already paid $100 for the trigger shot and have it sitting in my fridge at home. So, I really want to use the trigger, and I am keeping my fingers crossed that I do not surge on my own before Wednesday.

I am trying to take it all in stride and relax. That is hard for me -- I am not a good relaxer! I guess the appointment today wasn't bad news... it just wasn't the news that I was expecting.

Do any of you have experience with Femara? Anyone have a similar situation with your cycle slowing, or taking longer for follicles to grow with Femara?

QOTW: Both of our parents know that we are TTC, but they don't know details. My sister-in-law who I am very close with also knows. I also have 2 co-workers who know a little bit -- one of them is also TTC, and so we have been able to share some experiences and support each other. I like that we have a few people who know who we can talk to when we want to. No one is really pressuring us for info or asking lots of questions -- they are good about waiting for us to come to them to talk, so we are lucky in that regard. I feel like we have a good support system.

  • My laparoscopy date got changed from June 28 to June 3. This is good for three reasons. It is sooner and might mean we could try a June IUI; it means I will be able to play in my baseball tournament June 29July1; and it means that I don't have to do a repeat HSG because there won't be time.

I will get getting my left tube out. Hopefully there will be no other major issues detected.

Today is a holiday in Canada so we went and took our enGAYgement photos with our Love Party photographer who is a good friend of mine. I'm really excited to see them. We did them at this rainbow tunnel/bridge in this park in Toronto. T was an adventure climbing up the hill in the no trespassing area to get some of the shots but I think it was worth it.

QOTD: we are out to almost everyone about TTC. We are not out on Facebook but all of our good friends and family know.
    ****loss discussed*****

We're queer. I'm 33, have severe stage 4 endo, and had both fallopian tubes removed. My love ("Manada" on the boards, 32) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tavin and Casey at 21 weeks gestation.

    Our IUIs
with @Manada: IUI# 1-7 (December 2012- September 2013) all BFN. Tried natural, femara, clomid, puregon/follistim, clomid and menopur combo, both the ovidrel and HCG triggers.

    Our IVFs:
IVF #1 my eggs November/December 2013: Cancelled IVF due to poor response

    IVF #2 my eggs/Manada's uterus January/February 2014
BCPs and lupron overlap Stimmed: 1/22-2/2: Bravelle and Menopur (dosage ranged from B300 and M150 to B375 and M150 to B300 and M225)
2/4 retrieved 10 eggs. Endo was much worse than expected. Only 3 eggs fertilized; February 7 transferred two day 3 embryos, froze one. All great condition.
    BFP eve of 6dp3dt; Beta 1 (11dp3dt): 110; Beta 2 (13dp3dt): 175; Beta 3 (15dp3dt): 348; Beta 4 (19dp3dt): 2222; Beta 5 (21dp3dt): 4255
    1st ultrasound (3/6  6w 1d): TWINS!!!! Twin A measuring 6w1d with a heartbeat of 118bpm. Twin B measuring 6w0d with a heartbeat of 113bpm.

***July 18, 2014 we lost our beautiful babies at 21 weeks gestation. They were born too early. Tavin Sara T. and Casey Elizabeth T. are beautiful and precious and we will love them and miss them forever.***

    FET #1 December 2014
Intralipid infusion on Dec 10. Transfer of 1 day 3 nine-cell embryo into my uterus on Dec. 19. (acupuncture immediately before and after)
    BFP on Dec. 27; Beta 1 Jan 2 (14dp3dt): 665, Beta 2 Jan 4 (16dp3dt): 1859, Beta 3 Jan 6 (18dp3dt): 4449, Beta 4 Jan 10 (22dp3dt): 12,251.

  • I am on the stair step method with clomid.Took 100mg cd3-cd7 no growth now on 150mg clomid cd-0-cd14 ultrasound next monday. Hoping for good news! It was pretty annoying to see no growth while being on meds just want my body to do what I want it to do.

My two sisters know and my best friend. I havent wanted the added pressure of being asked questions so I keep it quite for the most part.

Married in September 2010, started TTC journey November 2012

    Me-

    7 IUI- 2 CP- 2 BFN

RPL blood work 12/27, showed a balance translocation in chromosome 11;22

    Spouse-

    PCOS 4 IUI-4 BFN

New Plan: Reciprocal IVF, me as carrier wife's eggs. Just went through insurance and received partial approval, so my part will go through my IVF benefits and wife's part will be out of pocket. Now just finalizing finance plans to cover the oop costs. Doctors office is in process of moving to a new building so there are no IVF start ups until March/April 2015.

  • Happy Monday indeed!

Nothing going on- The challenge is waiting to get bloodwork done on June 12th to see if my thyroid levels are good enough to start the IUI process. Still a bit sad that my first IUI would have been this past friday if my RE hadn't dropped the ball on contacting me back in early April with thyroid bloodwork concerns. :(

QOTW- We have told one of my wife's sisters, and that is it. It's been very challenging to be honest. Sometimes you just need to talk to someone aside from your spouse- but you can't. My sister in law has been excited- but she is more of a support for my wife, not me. The lack of support is why I sought this board out actually! While I don't talk much, I do pop in and read everyone's going ons and it helps me from feeling too isolated!

Today is CD 10. We have a midcycle monitoring appointment tomorrow to determine when will be able to trigger for our first IUI.

It hasn't really sunk in yet that we're really about to do this. When does it become real?

QOTD: Absolutely no one knows that we are TTC. Both of our families are really involved and enthusiastic, but we think their enthusiasm may be too much pressure early on, especially as we try for a BFP.

  • Hi ladies. I hope everybody had a great weekend. I had low Progesterone In my blood work this morning. It was 6.4. I am disappointed because the progesterone will stop my period. I was looking forward to knowing when I skipped my period this month that I might've been getting BFP. I have a few questions about this and will be posting on a separate post so if you could look out for it that would be great ladies thanks.

QOTD: we have told my 2 sister and DW 's sister, and both of our parents . They have all been really supportive.

QOTD: We originally only told my BIL and sister and a couple friends of ours...just those closest to us. We recently told my parents and my brother...that will probably be it for a while! I think that's enough!!!

  • Hello everyone! Happy Monday and good wishes to all, sounds like quite a few are waiting to start, I hope the wait goes by quickly!

As for us, we are about two days away from testing. We are at the end of our tww and I have totally stopped trying to guess it we are preggo or not. In fact, I told my wife to stop temping just so I don't go crazy I keep track of all the data and timing, etc... Even though she is carrying. I'm crossing my fingers :

Nobody knew we were trying when we got pregnant on our first try and we told everyone at about 8weeks. We lost it so now our whole family and close friends know we are trying again but thankfully nobody asks about it or bothers us unless we want to talk about it.
My name is A, I am wife to J.  After 7 months of ttc and one MC, we are expecting two baby girls in 2014!

  • Sorry I missed the TTC check in yesterday, but it was for good reason.  My wife had her surge on Sunday so we went in on Sunday and Monday (our RE does double inseminations on the day of and the day after the surge).  This being our first attempt and go-around with the IUI we decided to take Monday off to go out to lunch and relax together.  Of course we're hoping for a BFP on the first try (isn't everyone!?), but we used the day off just as a way to celebrate the launch of this next chapter of our lives, no matter what path it takes to get us pregnant.  It really was a great day.

Now we're in to the TWW...I definitely think this is going to be the worst part!  I am so impatient, and it really is the part of this process where you feel the most in limbo. When do most people start testing??? Do we have to wait the full 14 days???

As for the QOTW, we have told 2 sets of friends and my wife's parents that we are TTC.  They are very supportive, and good about not asking for info and letting us bring it to them (though you can tell every time we see them that they're itching for an update!).

It's just so crazy to think that we've actually started this process. Like there's a chance that we COULD be pregnant.  Absolute crazy talk!!! Fingers crossed to infinity and beyond! Wish we had a teleporter to get this TWW over with!

  • Well...another surge has happened...we go in today at 3:30 for another IUI...this will be 4 for us...think sticky thoughts!!!

  • Hi all, I'm taking the Ovidrel trigger shot TONIGHT! OMG! Went in for U/S yesterday and follicles measured 17.6 and 16, so they told me to skip the U/S today and trigger tonight, Sunday. IUI will be Monday & Tuesday.

This is exciting and scary as DD (2yrs old) was conceived on try #1, but now I'm older and cycles have changed so I'm getting monitored and medicated. I hope it's the magic pill, but it also feels like more pressure in a way.

Any advice for the trigger shot?
