We are going to a friend's pool this weekend and I am trying to find the right swim diaper solution to prevent disaster. Problem? DS is just over 12 lbs, so the Huggies and Pampers disposable diapers are still too big (smallest size says 16 lbs).
School me in the ways of swim gear for smaller babies.
Right now, I have
swim trunks and a swim shirt that were given to us that should fit, and a
set that are a bit too big for right now but will fit later this
summer.
(P.S. I am not expecting to keep him in the pool long, but the family has a long history of babies in pools and we'd like to put him in for just a few minutes.)

Re: Swim diaper question
I've taken my DD swimming a few times so far, and she wears a reusable swim diaper. It's worked great so far and they come in small enough sizes to suit your baby. Our diaper came from Target and it was about $10.
I'm not sure I'd do this in a pool. I'd hate to find out what chlorine would do the the PUL.
I also bought a reusable swim diaper. It works well. Thought itd be way too small, since it looks so much smaller than our cloth diapers, but I was mistaken. No need to stuff it with anything, it's just there to catch poo.
We have one of the iPlay diapers from Target too, but haven't used it yet. What happens if/when she goes to the bathroom while using it? Should I be buying a second one? Do you just rinse the poo down the sink? We will be with extended family and I don't want to gross anyone out or do something inappropriate.
