Baptism

We have a bunch of family that will be in town over Labor Day weekend and I am tossing around the idea of baptizing baby then but I am just wondering, esp from the STMs if four weeks is a little too soon to do this. We plan to have the baptism in front of the whole congregation. Just wondering if you girls have pros/cons about baptizing right away opposed to a couple months down the road. TIA!

Both my kids were baptized by 1 month. It's nice that they are still pretty sleepy. We had no problems.

I'm at a FTM, but we plan on baptizing about a month after birth, it's the norm in our church. Every church and family are different. One of my girlfriends had her baby baptized a week after birth. Good luck with your decision.

We didn't baptize until DS was 5 months but I see no problem with doing it at 1 month. I think traditionally the idea is the sooner the better.

DS was 4 weeks old when he was baptized and plan on doing the same with DD.

My mom got me baptized around a few weeks old. And we are baptizing our little man within the first month as well.

We're planning this LO's baptism for about 5 weeks after my due date. We really wanted to squeeze it in before the weather turns- so we could have the reception outside.

I'm definitely planning on relying more on catering this time than I did with DD, but honestly, that probably has more to do with having two kiddos than a newborn.

We did our baptism with dd at 2 months old we also would have done sooner... but our church also only does a certain number of baptisms and only does a certain amount of families at a time... check with your church if you can do it that weekend!
