Babies: 9 - 12 Months

how did you eliminate bottles

my ds has 4 bottles a day but he eats so much at dinner that he sometimes throws up if he has a bottle before bed.  He also has one around 4 when he wakes up.  My question is when did you eliminate bottles and which ones first.  I was thinking I would keep the morning one and put the next two in sippys at lunch and dinner and then eliminate the before bed one first.  that is what I did with DD I think.  My doctor says no milk till one so I am still doing formula for a few more weeks.

  • I think what you're planning sounds good - if he's going to throw it up anyway, I say drop the night one first and go from there. :)

  • I would offer DS a sippy cup of milk (pedi had us start that at 9 months) and as he took more at meals, he began dropping bottles.  He ended up completely off bottles around 11 months.
