Trouble TTC

looking for advice

I havent yet been trying for 12 months but was told that might be able to get a little more information on Clomid over here.

This past cycle I was on Clomid 100mg CD3-CD7, I went for an ultrasound today and found nothing that can be measured. I am to now pick up another round of Clomid tonight 150mg and go to the RE for another round of blood work and an ultrasound. Has anyone done this before with good growth with the more meds and time or is Clomid just not the right meds for me. I was on 50mg of clomid the cycle before with nothing that can be measured but I had a polyp to have removed so that cycle was cancelled.

Also I always get a positive OPK, usually between CD 15-18 My next ultrasound will be on 5/27 CD18, can I run the risk of just missing all together this month, should I use OPK to be safe and call if I get a positive?

Any advice or experiences appreciated

Now just finalizing finance plans to cover the oop costs. Doctors office is in process of moving to a new building so there are no IVF start ups until March/April 2015.

Re: looking for advice

  • This is called stair stepping, but I have never done it.

I have always used OPKs during Clomid cycles because I was afraid of missing ovulation.  Just don't start testing until a few days after your last pill since Clomid can cause false positives.  GL!

good to know, Twinkie! I was wondering why my CD7 OPK was so close to positive. Haha, I feel like a fool now :)

I agree on waiting a couple days after the last clomid tablet.  I took clomid days 5-9 and decided to test on day 9 to see what would happen for sure & it was a definite false positive.

  • I took clomid starting at 50mg with no luck all the way up to 200mg before anything worked for me.  My doctor told me that for most women it will work at 50mg but that does not mean you are most women.  Look at me, I had to take up to 200mg before I saw anything happen.  I hope you find a dose that works well for you! Best of luck! **hugs**
  • I did stair stepping on one of my cycles.  I took 100 mg of clomid on days 5-9 with no response.   I then took 150 mg of clomid for another five days which resulted in two follicles.  However it ended with a BFN.
TTC since Jan. 2012. DX =low AMH level. 1st SA=within normal range. SA for 1st IUI = low count Jan. 2013: 150 mg clomid + IUI = BFN
