Mucousy poop

For the last week or more DS has had very mucousy poops. I EP and he has had a runny nose. Do you think it is something in my BM or could it be related to the runny nose? Should I call the pedi? It's been a variety of colors, but there hasn't been any blood...

My DS had mucous in his poop right before he got his cold....so it could be that. But I've also heard poop can change quite a bit while teething. I would say it never hurts to contact your doctor.

DD has mucousy poop sometimes and when I asked her pedi about it she said it's nothing bad because our bodies produce mucous and as long as she's eating, growing, and not having any issues not to worry.  I also FF though, so it may be different.  I never hurts to call your pedi and ask them

  • My DS got it when he had a cold and also when he was teething. Call if you are concerned, but unless there is blood I wouldn't be overly concerned. If you are eating something different, it could also be a food allergy, usually dairy.

This was my thought exactly. If your LO is drooling a lot that can cause more "liquidy" or mucousy poops too.
