June 2012 Moms

Where is your LO sleeping now?

DD is still BF and sleeping in our bed.

Anytime we lay her in her crib she freaks out.

Now we are ttc#2 the end is near. I cant imagine her sleeping in her crib, never mind her own room.

Audrey is going to be a big sister!

  • DD starts the night in her crib and then we bed share when she wakes up to eat. Usually 2 or 3am. But last night she suddenly STTN!

  • A mixture of crib in our room and bed sharing. He also still naps in his swing. I'm so tired of everyone telling me that I'm creating bad habits. I work more than full time and have a LO. This mama needs sleep any way she can get it.

    First we had eachother.5.27.11
    Then we had you.6.16.12
    Now we have everything.

  • She only sleeps in her crib, unless we're traveling, then she will sleep in her pack n play.

When/if I have another, they will go straight to the crib in his/her room. I let Anja sleep in our room in her bouncer for the first month or so of her life.

  • DS sleeps in a crib in his room. I wouldn't mind bed sharing on occasion, but when we put him in our bed, he just thinks it is playtime.

we have the opposite going on...DS will only sleep in our bed...he thinks its play time when he's in his crib.

I was one of the evil uncaring mothers that sleep trained to get my dc in her crib. She sleeps all night there now.

My first bed shared forever bc I was too lazy slash guilty to sleep train... And I hated it. So I bit the bullet in training this one and it was so worth it for us.

If bed sharing is working for you great, but if you want to get your LO in the crib in anticipation of number 2, IMO the sooner you start sleep training the easier it is.
  • DD is in her crib for most of the night. If she wakes up before 4am, I feed her & put her back in her crib. If she wakes up after  4am, we bring her into our bed. She likes her crib and sleeps much better in there than our bed.

This.  We used to bedshare but I had a hard time sleeping and DD now sleeps better in her crib so it works for us for her to be in her room.

  • Crib since 6 weeks

  • DS has been in his crib in his own room for quite some time - I think we transitioned him by the time he was six weeks old. At first we'd had him in a play 'n' pack in our room, but none of us slept well. Once he went into the crib DH and I both started sleeping better.

DS still wakes up to nurse once or twice a night most nights, and I have been known to fall asleep with him in the recliner. Though now he likes to sleep on his side so that only lasts until he tries to turn and I wake up and put him back in the crib. The night snuggling is one of the reasons I will be sad to wean him.

  • In our room in her crib for most of the night. If we are having a rough night I will bring her to our bed.

AHH I'm so glad I'm not the only one whose LO still naps in the swing!!  It's so hard for working mamas.  I work nights so any sleep, hers OR mine, is precious.

Other than naps though she's mostly in her crib in her room.  She still wakes 1-2 times a night, and I usually bring her into bed to nurse if she wakes at 4-6ish.

  • DD sleeps in her crib, she slept in her RNP until Thanksgiving, then a PNP (big mistake for us), then the crib.  In hindsight I wish we would've skipped the PNP.  I think that you have to trust your intuition and do what's best for your family...

We start by putting DD in a pack in play next to our bed. She usually wakes up somewhere between 3-6 and then we put her in our bed.
