Travel + Bed/Crib?

We are heading to NC for a week long vacation in July (DS will be 7 1/2 months old) we planned on bringing the pack and play for him to sleep in.  The more I think about it the pack and play seems too hard to sleep in all week.  (The bed at the beach house is a queen, so DS can't sleep with us)

I thought about the Tuckaire Toddler inflatable bed but I think DS might be too young for that.

And we thought about getting a mattress for the pack and play but that just seems ridiculous to pack.

Anyone have alternatives to sleeping in the pack and play?

  • Hi, I don't post here often..I'm a lurker but I have come across a website I looked into for when we go to Florida.  I used this website...you can search state by state for baby rental companies.

    hope that helps

  • What about a mattress pad for the pack and play? DD sleeps in a cosleeper with a thick waterproof mattress pad.  It's firm but not too bad.  Her crib mattress is more rim than the pnp.

Ds1 slept in a pack n play in the summer when he was 6 months and 1.5 years. We would be away at our summer place 3 or 4 days a week. We also took vacas were ds spent 3 to 10 nights in the pack n play no problems.

  • I put quilted PnP sheet in ours and it makes it very cushy, she never has a problem sleeping in it when we are away from home. They sell them at babies R us.

Thanks everyone - I didn't even think of a padded sheet for the pack and play.

DS naps in his pack and play at my parents during the week - so he does sleep in it but not for long periods of time.
