I just saw a recent post you made in someones post about gas. You had mentioned green, moucasy poop possibly being a sign of milk intolerance. I was jsut wondering if you knew anything about ot or had just read up on symptoms?

My son was diagnosed with colic, however, about 2 weeks ago his poop did turn green (not sure if moucasy though..) & I completely forgot to tell the pedi. I am awaiting a call from her, but didn't know if you had experience in it.

E doesn't tolerate dairy well, but I've never officially gotten her tested. They can test the diaper for blood which would indicate milk protein and/or soy intolerance. I cut all obvious dairy which made a huge difference. As of January I also cut all hidden dairy. It made a huge difference with E, she went from a fussy, constantly crying baby to a sweet happy girl. I'd try cutting milk, cheese, and yogurt and see what happens. Or switch formulas if LO is FF.
Are you BFing? Green poop can also be foremilk hind milk imbalance, especially if you have oversupply. To correct that you can just feed from one side per feeding to ensure LO is getting plenty of fatty hind milk.
Green poop can be totally normal. But the colic or mucous or blood would make me wonder about MPSI.

Maybe they would be willing to test for blood. I don't see any, but it is dark & could possibly be there..

I BF & FF. I do not produce a lot, so cannot EBF unfortunately. Its so weird, he will drink 2 ounces of this formula bottle, start screaming & refuse it, then just BF for 20 minutes! Then he took an ounce of breast milk in the bottle with no issues. Starts to make me wonder if the formula is not sitting well in his tummy. We only started having these issues for a couple of weeks now, but I hear that it can take time for the intolerance to show up, so it could possibly be that. I am hoping maybe they will suggest using a different formula to see if this is the cause.

My pedi called back. She said could be normal, but def could be a sign of lactose intolerance. I switched to Similac Sensitive as of now & going to see if that helps. So far he has downed a whole bottle plus+

I call back in a week to report what has been going on. I forgot to ask, but if it is lactose intolerance, do u think his poop will go back to yellow?

There is a difference between lactose intolerance and milk protein intolerance. MPI is often outgrown by 1 or 2 years. I hope the formula change helps, and feel free to ask me any further questions. GL at the pedi, hopefully it's nothing to worry about.
ETA: if it is MPI, it may go back to yellow but it may not if you are still eating dairy. It takes 2 weeks or more for the dairy to clear the system, so don't be discouraged if you don't see progress after just one week. I would give it a full month.

We are trying this 1st & if it doesnt seem to be helping, I know we were going to see if something else works. ie seeing if it is a MPI.

For now, I am just giving formula-just want to see what is going on- I am pumping & freezing my BM for the moment.
