If you have started dilating does that mean your mucus plug is out? I am just curious if I missed it or if it will come when I start to dilate more. I have been trying to watch because im only 34 weeks but went into pre term labor at 33 weeks. But they were able to stop it.
Re: mucus plug
You should know it if your plug comes out. There will likely be a slight amount of blood mixed with mucus. Every doctor is different, but a lot of times, if you make it 34 weeks and you go into labor, they won't stop it.
Good luck!!
With DS1 I never saw my mucus plug come out. probably because it didn't come out all in one go, it came out in bits and just didn't notice it.
With this pregnancy I was 3cm dilated before it came out. It was actually the day after my first 'exam'.
If you google the mucus plug, most, if not all the articles say that your losing your mucus plug happens as you dilate because you are 'opening up'.
Not necessarily.
Mine came out in bits and pieces, and I never noticed it. I think this happens a lot, actually- as nice as it would be to know for sure that it came out, you might not even be aware of it.
And no, it doesn't necessarily have to have ANY blood whatsoever.
No. I didn't lose mine with DS until after my water broke and I was in full blown labor.
With DD I lost it about 5 days before my water broke and I went into labor, and I was only a fingertip at my check afer losing it.
With both kids it came out in 2 big globs, of nearly clear mucus- no blood at all.
