I got a Playtex First Lil' Gripper straw cup for DD this morning, just because I found it on sale and figured she could play around with it and start to figure it out. She'll be 6 months old in 2 weeks - we haven't started solids yet, and I'm planning to offer her a straw cup with a little bit of water during meals in a few weeks.
Well I put a little bit of water in the cup this morning, and I think she'll have the straw thing figured out sooner rather than later. She grabbed right onto the handles and put the straw in her mouth. When I squeezed it and she got a little water, she tried to suck the straw.
The problem is that she also tries to use it as a rattle and flails it all over the place, and the straw part of this cup is definitely NOT leakproof! I only plan on giving her water in the cup for awhile, so it's not that big of a deal, but would rather not have leaks if there are better options out there.
What are you favorite straw cups? I looked on amazon, and it seems that most cups only have like 3/5 stars based on reviews, so that's not helpful... Any suggestions?
Re: Favorite straw cup?
I love the munchkin click lock straw cup. It is definitely spill proof and my DD has been drinking from it for the last 2 weeks so I assume that it isn't hard to for little ones to use. Only negative is that it doesn't have handles. I bought mine at walmart for about $5, but here's the link to it on amazon.
