Traveling by air under 50lbs

Traveling by air under 50lbs is just impossible!

We are going away for 2 wks and  I have been repacking lighter and lighter...How do you do it.

 Just frustrated, anxious and slightly angry (I used to be a light traveler and with a child....ugh) Going from warm to cold, rainy climate is just yucky. Not to mention we have to pack casual (hiking too) to formal dining attires. :(

    How heavy is your luggage when empty? When I got new luggage I looked for the lightest I could find. I've got a 28 inch rolling upright that is about 9 pounds and a 25 inch that's about 8 pounds. It's been a lifesaver so far!

    If your suitcases are too heavy you could always use a duffle bag for the heavier clothes and shoes.

    You could also wear or pack in carry ons the heaviest items you have.

  • We have been traveling by plane extensively ever since K was 8 weeks old and I basically stopped bringing anything for myself. DH has always packed light so no change there. I basically only bring like 2 outfits for myself and 1 spare pair of shoes. The rest if our suitcases are always full of K's stuff. It has worked so far.

    I'm impressed! I try to do this but with a kid I"m always getting dirty, which necessitates many changes of clothes!

    You need to pack only clothes that can be easily washed and that can be mixed amp; matched. So, same color families, etc.nbsp;When we went to France for 2 weeks we had 2 small suitcases for 2 adults and 1 kid. I packed nbsp;black flats, sneakers, sandals, a black sundress, a black skirt, black tank, white tank, pink tank, black sweater, pink cardigan, jeans, etc. So it all coordinated. We are going on another 2 week trip next month and need clothes for rainy, cool weather and warmer weather. This time I'm going w/ more of a navy palate. For me, having that core color helps. Also, bringing way less clothes than you have days and washing while away. nbsp;

    We're you going to multiple funerals?
