I dropped my baby... Or at least I caught him mid-drop, but his head hit the granite table.
I was holding him facing forward so we could say good morning to the dog, and he just dove forward and slipped right out of my arms so fast! He only cried for a few seconds, and I couldn't see a mark... But I still took him to be checked by the pediatrician. Dr thinks he's fine, but said to watch for vomiting, changes in mood/personality,irritability (he got shots 2 days ago, he's already irritable), movements, etc.
He is acting totally normal, but I still feel so bad! I just want to spend the whole day cuddling him.
Re: Feeling like a terrible mommy
Good catch!!
Seriously, that must have been scary!! I'm so sorry.
I dropped F from knee height onto the carpet a few months ago. I was going to set him down on his back, and he just slipped out of my hands. He was super pissed, but I think I cried harder than he did!

This stuff happens. I'm sure we were all dropped by our parents, and we turned out fine
Last night I accidentally poked LO in the eye with a straw. I was trying to give him just a little drop of water from the end of it, and he got excited and flailed, right into the straw. I felt awful, but he didn't even cry, so I am sure he is fine.
N just started sitting up awesome yesterday and of course I was trying to take like 100 pictures while keeping one hand there to catch him. Well, one time, he fell straight back and his head banged on the floor (carpet, thankfully). I felt terrible.
We have all been there.
Thanks, everyone, for your kind words. You definitely made me feel better! It's reassuring to hear that I'm not the only one making mistakes here.
I spent most of the day snuggling and playing with LO and am happy to report that he seems perfectly fine
Thank you, again!!
So glad to know he is doing fine and you got in lots of snuggles.
